I left Miami on August 18, 1978 in a 24' Pantera w/ 2 Mercury outboards.
It took 42 hrs. NO GPS or radars etc. I had 2 compasses, "most" of the charts, an RDF and a VHF radio. Plus the desire to get to New York! Long story! pp. |
cant imagine it was a sight seeing cruise. jeff32 got a nice 28 for ya!!

If I remember right, years ago a guy from NJ showed up at Pantera to pick up his 24.He had no car or truck just a one way ticket from NJ to Fla. Maybe Pepe,Joe or Smarty can tell the story :drink::drink:

It's painful enough to drive 80mph on the hwy from Ga to NJ .
can't imagine:eek: |

what kind of a ride was it? WOT ? or cruising along the coast at 40 mph?

Based on http://www.nauticalcharts.noaa.gov/n.../distances.pdf and the time, I figure an average speed of roughly 23mph. That's a journey.
