If everything goes well by March or before, Monday she leaves the factory and straight to my shop which is 5 min. away
then everyday after work hit it hard. I can finally get away from the wife and work on my new biaatch, LOL

Yes sir i agree wait to u see what i'm going to do on the floor in the cockpit area, flooring is what a do for a living, i just went to a seminar this last Friday to see this new flooring system that we can take a digital image of anything steel, wood, marble, ect. its pretty much whatever you want your imagination to be. So in the seminar they where putting down this diamond plate design when i saw that **** i say to guy i'm doing this on my boat, it looks freaking real its a digital photograph of an actual diamond plate panel. I'll post the name of the product tomorrow. Once again Thanks. Got to work tomorrow need that money for the SR build, Goodnight everyone.

Congrats! Sweet boat and will look forward to seeing it when you finish. If you need to dump that old 28 I will come and get it. I don't need the trailer :lolhit:

Congrats on the build It looks awesome. You are living my dream to get a new hull and do all of the setup. Can't wait to see the finished project. Chris

Can't wait to see progress once you get it home.

Question for the Pantera lovers. Why don't we see any sit-down 28s? Maybe there are some but I haven't seen any. My times on a Pantera always got me thinking about the lack of freeboard and how the boat would be a really cool sit-down hull. Underload...would you ever consider that?

I can tell you from experience....unless you've got no job & every part down to the last nut & bolt. March is very ambitious.....
See ya on the water in August:lolhit:
If I don't mind pm or email me with the cost of this. I may consider doing the same even though after the 24 was done I swore never again:lolhit:

Just curious.......;) although I'm 99% sure my next project will be a y2k anyways.
Mike

bstubbs converted his to a sit down. there is a older thread on his build. i could see where you might get that feeling if your a tall person.

I like stand up bolsters i had a scarab with sit down
bolsters and it wouldn't feel right when I would ride rough water
which is what I like plus i'm a short guy so when I'm
standing I feel safer. I think it would look cool though
to have some nice bucket seats.

Pantera28TS 12-02-2012 08:55 AM

Congrats....That will be one Sweet project Underload...!!!!

Ahh, that's a cool conversion. I'm not tall either at 6', but running in the Sound with the low freeboard is a bit unsettling if it decides to be rough out there, which is not uncommon. We also took our boats out 90 miles one way to the east end of LI for a day of romping then back, not fun to stand all that way. I started getting an appreciation for sit-downs.

My 28 has is a sitdown. My former 28 had bolsters and I am giving serious consideration to converting to standup. It is VERY hard on the back in big water!!

on a long trip we pick up the drop out bolsters for seats. the g/f likes to relax with her feet on the dash. but once we hit the rough water my back cant take it so i have to stand

Ha Ha! Ok. Looks like he is wearing Pantera sneakers.

JAIME 12-02-2012 11:28 AM

in that video Rick is standing in flat water. In the rough he's gonna have to hunker down with his back against the bench and feet on angled foot rest.

Catastrophe 12-03-2012 05:54 AM

Can you post some pics of the dash and the cabin as you received it ?

Xactly, plus that boat is a 24, not a 28, the 28 has a bit more freeboard. The bolsters however did come out of a 28.

Donzi ZX 12-04-2012 01:36 PM

UL: What's the rough price of this? Seems like a cool way to go. Should be a fun project, and you'ill have the boat built exactly however you want it. Keep the pics coming. Also - any specific reason why you passed on the optional recessed sides?

OCCJoe 12-04-2012 07:53 PM

He took advantage of a Hull that Jo had built for stock . I think the recessed sides should be standard and not an option however Jo showed me how they do it and it is more work . Also the recessed side boats have to be painted and cannot rock Gelcoat only .
