Thank you! This was a huge milestone. I can actually now start seeing this thing going back together.

scippy 08-15-2014 02:09 PM

Glad to see your moving along!.........any word on the Bolsters?

AnurajShah 08-15-2014 07:21 PM

Thanks Skippy.

No word on the bolsters. No answer to texts or phone. I emailed earlier today asking for my seats or my money back. Luckily I paid through Paypal using my credit card. Paypal might have a 30 day claim deadline, but my credit card does not. If I do not get a response to my email, then I will start a claim.

Anu.......Can you send me his E-mail? .....if I had an address it wouldn't be beyond me going to pay a visit for the both of us......He wasted alot of our time and progress on our boats
and it's not even about a refund now!.............Anyway, We still need bolsters, so lets find a reputable place & maybe it might save us some bucks.

AnurajShah 08-15-2014 09:17 PM

Thanks, Pete.

I am at the airport traveling right now. I will PM you his email address when I get somewhere with wifi.

Wow, you guys are still dealing with this....? That sucks to hear. Hope you guys get something figured out.

Yea Junior it does suck!................but I'll just speak for myself here, I wasn't totally convinced that he was going to deliver on the bolsters even after I smoked him out
with some threatening e-mails. He showed Anu some progress on incomplete skins that were supposed to drape his Bolsters and should've be done with months ago..
He dropped his CL ads and figures that he'll lay low, but I intend to get my piece of meat!

It totally sucks. I had high hopes. I need to figure out my next steps here.

scippy 08-29-2014 09:59 PM

Anu..........Because I could do nothing before placement of the bolsters, I'm already 5 months behind a very slow restoration as it is..
So lets move foward on where now to get some bolsters made...........because we both want the same old skool type of seating lets
join forces & maybe the power of 2 can catch a break..................any sugestions?

Mario L. 08-31-2014 05:45 PM

Count me in for another two......

That sounds like a plan. I will work on getting my money back and start looking for sources. Nothing readily pops to mind.

Mario L. 09-02-2014 07:10 PM

Scippy and Anu,

Please email me directly at [email protected]
We can pull this off before years end!

Mario

I'm going to call Jim at PPI tomorrow..................Now that Mario would be in ....3 sets of bolsters should give us a great deal!

scippy 09-05-2014 02:14 PM

Spoke with PPI (Jim Cowan) their basic Bolster goes for $1650 He would knock off $150 per ...........that's still a very expensive. total $3000 for a pair!

I also contacted Hot-Tops and spoke with Jim - their basic Bolsters go for $1595 and he would knock off $50 .......Total $1545 for for a pair!

Some pics .............PPI has a wide variety, but very expensive!...Hot-Tops is the white pair....any feedback here??

AnurajShah 09-06-2014 03:34 PM

Pete, the Hot Tops seats look clumsy.

I agree that the PPI ones are too expensive.

Another potential....

AnurajShah 09-06-2014 07:34 PM

Mario,

These were the original bolsters I was looking at. I reached out to them by phone and email about custom patterns and never heard back. I believe this is who Pantera currently uses.

phragle 09-06-2014 08:11 PM

1500 bucks?? Do you have the stands?? 1500?? holy hell, mine were rotted out so I rebuilt, 1 and a half sheets of plywood, some 2x2 and an afternoon. counting the bottle of gorilla glue, some screws and beer your in well under 200 bucks then 3~400 at a decent upholstry shop to get them foamed and covered.

Here's some frames with the right kind of mechanics, http://greatlakesskipper.com/baja-19...tainless-steel but to completethis bolster might get too expensive.

phragle 09-06-2014 11:05 PM

on a 7' beam boat the outside of the bolster usually mounts to the coaming with a leg on the inside, so your probably not looking for a complete bolster stand.

sparky24 09-07-2014 01:17 PM

im considering these bolsters

http://www.hottopsmarine.com/bolster-seats.html

these are pics i saved from about 3 years ago on here when someone put them in their excalibur

the only thing i dont like about them is i think they could use a little more padding maybe, but the frames look really nice

IMO bolting to the side is bull****, the seats themselves should be strong enough that they dont sway

phragle 09-07-2014 06:26 PM

Bolting to the side is because they rest against the side.and they can be thru bolted.

sparky24 09-07-2014 07:42 PM

yeah yeah i know, sorry i guess what i meant is that the ones that have two legs and still need to be bolted to the side. I had some for my boat but they had so much sway they were bolted to the sides. I dont think with good frames you would need to do that

We are about to cut the transom for a bravo with a 17" "X" dimension.

I have a couple of questions:

1. Is the Pantera 24 transom at 12 degrees?

2. Please see the attached diagrams. I assume 17" is perpendicular to the "V" translating to 17 3/8" up the 12 degree transom. Do I have this correct conceptually?
