Unfortunately I don't have enough room between my strakes and the drive to mount them quite that low.

However, I just came across a video of my old Checkmate and it would appear the tabs would have no problem reaching the spray coming off the hull even if they're mounted higher..

Some people love them horizontal...some people, myself included, hate it. You cant extend the length of your boat when they are horizontal, your either up, or causing a serious hook.

How wide are your tabs ?

I'm using 280 K planes which are 14" wide..

If I mount them at the strakes they will interfere with the drive turning...

Can't seem to find any pics of mine on this comp, but will keep looking.

Found a few, but not the greatest as I had to get them off another website I had previously posted them on. A bit different setup than y'all with 400 pounds hanging 2 feet off the back, they do tend to drag a bit:lolhit:

I stopped by and talked to Dave as I know he does awesome work, but he isn't equiped to turn a crank and had no interest in porting heads.
I decided to just haul it out to LLano so I could get everything done in one place... Bob at FTM has been using them for years with no issues.. :)
