IRONMAN 11-22-2013 10:44 PM

Most of the TRS's were set up at 18" but they are 2" taller than a std bravo so it becomes similar to a bravo at 16" however the TRS prop is further back away from the transom kind of like a short setback as compared to a bravo. I would think that 19" for Mirage type 3 blades and 20" for 4 or 5 blades would be good with the TRS and you would be able to maintain some hatch clearance for a carb motor arrestor etc... Remember TRS spacers are no where near as easy as putting a spacer in a Bravo so you really only want to cut it once and get it right. A real 420 TRS at 19" with a labbed mirage plus should do 70 easy at sea level

Yea i will call jo and nopper on monday. i have to figure this out by tuesday b/c the glass will be done probably by wensday and i have to let the glass guy know whether or not to fill the fiberglass in.

Is there anyway to find out what my current X is without having a TRS transom jig? ppl have measurements for bravo from the bottom of the keel to the bottom of the gimbal (transom assy??) but i cant find a measurement like that for TRS anywhere... i guess i have to find a jig

Just measure from the bottom to the hinge pins. Mikes pantera is at 17.5" if I'm remembering correctly

i can probably have a measurement on a trs boat from the gimble to the bottom for you tomorrow. there is one in the pole barn sitting next to my top gun.

Subscribed for updates. Our Excalibur with a LH Konrad, a five-blade Hydromotive and a 525 SC is a terrible running POS. We were thinking of swapping on a TRS to see what happened.

What power ^^^^????

sparky24 11-24-2013 05:07 PM

Does the Konrad act like a shorty? Maybe prop is too high

dba900 11-24-2013 05:20 PM

It's a 525 SC. I think it's stock, but there's no way to know. I think the prop might be too high. I'll try to measure the X the next time I'm at the shop where the boat is stored. Sparky, we may see you out there next season. We boat out of Falmouth.

Unlimited jd 11-24-2013 07:30 PM

The Konrad is just shy of 2" shorter iirc. With that power why the left hand drive and 5 blade prop?

sparky24 11-25-2013 12:48 AM

The left hand is supposed to counteract the rotation of the motor so the boat doesnt lean over at speed, i think thats the idea?
