yea maybe gotta sort out my priorities

Sparky, thanks for that info and for starting this thread. There's lots of helpful information here. This boat handles just like what Pepe described the Pantera with the LH drive handled like. I guess our first move will be to put the TRS from the Superboat on the Excalibur and see how it works out.

Pat, I know you have a lot of seat time in these 24x7s. Would you recommend a three-blade or a four-blade prop?

some reference pics for the 17.75 Bravo X dim One at level trim and one example trimmed up some. The top of the aluminum bar represents the waterline off from the delta pad.

The best box stock prop I've run is the Merc Rev 4; within 1mph on top of any stock 3 blade with better mid range speed and handling. If you need more than 25p, a Bravo 1 can be modified for extra bow lift and is nearly as good as the Rev 4. The fasting prop I've run is a labbed 3 blade Mirage plus.

I agree that the Rev4 is the best 4 blade. I ran a Turbo Lightning 3 blade and that was the fastest and best handling 3-blade on my 24.

Much appreciated; thanks!

Depending on drive height and power level I found the hydro motive 3 blade good at 400 hp on the TRS at 18" with mirage plus close second. Hydromotive ruled in the rough mirage was an all around decent prop. At 500 hp the mirage plus and lab bed bravo 1 were same on top with 4 blade better overall mid etc.. With the higher bravo drive height and 500 hp the bravo 1 lab was by far the best, too much slip with 3 blades and not enough bow lift. Last data was 454 300 hp and Bravo drive that was good with mirage plus then next owner ran 66 stock 330 power with a bravo 1 I think it was a 24p. Never tried the rev 4 however I agree with the others that it can work well at normal drive heights. What ever you decide don't waste any time with a high 5. Not enough diameter to work at all. Good luck

Put your TRS on at 18.5 to 19.5 and enjoy

Thanks, that's helpful. Do you remember what pitch you were running when you had 500 HP? I'm going to look around for props this winter and theoretically this 525 SC should put out 490 at the prop.
