Boat is in Devon - I am in Bristol
When I brought my Pantera (in the US in Knoxville) I was initially looking at old 28ft Cigarettes but discovered Pantera through an ad for late 70's 24 SE. It was a Volvo setup. I think it was sold from the Poole area and was £15500 back in the day. Then I went to the factory and was sold. and I am one of those idiots who didn't winterise too well but no Im rebuilding not selling a siezed 454..... |
the boat i now own is a late 70's pantera and was from the poole area.......
so you have a 454 in a 24 now ? |

ah. thats better than a seized 350 though so ahead of the game to me
what is the 454 like in a 24 and is the weight of it ok |
Stripped really good condition - tried to hone out one bit of corrosion but now need to rebore 20 would do but probably go to 30 as more choice. Either use Real Steel (I used to work as a Marine Fitter in the 1970's) which a mate in Bordon uses, hes done quite a few 454.
Blocks outside under tarp, crank pistons in the bedroom - all bagged and tagged In the boat it is some weight with a Bravo 1 and a B&M charger on top but the boats 5 ton all up and looks great and sounds awesome particularly when the blower gives out a little whistle. Not had a problem feather throttle when you come of the plane and its fine. |

.[/QUOTE] you say either but who else apart from real steel?. boat sounds nice and not putting me off a 454 now. not sure i would do much else. just want something reliable as it is going to go to spain so a long way from home. something that would fit easily to a 280 and sit within its range without screaming the nuts off it 24/7 as it is then bound to let fly any suggestions on a mission |
