any 24-7's around for sale?

I posted similar thread last year. Then my aunt's estate took a year longer to clear probate than we all counted on. Anyway, a little mad money is finally about to fall in my lap and i figured somebody on here probably has a line on some decent ones. Thanks.

Craney 01-06-2015 05:37 PM

What's your price range?

dereknkathy 01-06-2015 05:51 PM

500 to 7k. preferably on the higher side. i know what really inexpensive boats end up costing.

Ing 01-07-2015 05:35 PM

7K sounds like a project boat. Can you please clarify if you are looking for turn key or a project boat? That may help folks locate what you're looking for.

slpcamaross97 01-08-2015 06:34 AM

Honestly buy a newer boat like Ing's. Use the 7k as a deposit. I was able to finance my boat 13 years at 1.2%. My payment is next to nothing too.

IRONMAN 01-11-2015 09:55 PM

For real ocean use you may want to consider a 28'

PARASAIL941 01-12-2015 01:15 AM

Not a 24/7 but might be a good deal. Miami craigslist - 1996 sonic 28ft.ss twin 350's . 11,800. ad makes it sound like he's ready to sell. GOOD LUCK !!!

dereknkathy 01-12-2015 06:36 AM

my ideal boat is a 22 avanti but they are scarce. i am mainly a back-bay delaware river kind of guy. just essentially gave away a 27 Nova III. twins no mas. doing a head stand between motors gets old when you get old...

I have a 22 Avanti and I love it, but I would go all the way for a 24x7 honestly. And even bigger if you want to go in the ocean.

Stormrider 01-12-2015 03:46 PM

http://longisland.craigslist.org/boa/4791645783.html lots of boat for the $.

http://easternshore.craigslist.org/boa/4824083454.html

phragle 01-12-2015 03:58 PM

Somebody had a 22 avanti listed here in the llast week or so,,,,,

phragle 01-12-2015 04:06 PM

And Bobby McLennan Jr (on FB) has a couple and may sell one....

Nmbr1GMfan 01-12-2015 04:53 PM

Once I get mine complete I'll probably sell it for 50% of what I have invested:bong:

I got my boat listed for 55% of what I have in it. Only have had one call on it.

That's about right. I think I got about 33% on mine

scarab63 01-12-2015 06:00 PM

@op
Pm " pinball " he has a really clean Carrera 24 7 up here in Mass very close to me. I think he wants $13 but that's with hyd steering, x drive, 502 c.i., etc.......

I know he was willing to part it out. So maybe minus power / drive you can hit your $ 7 k mark.......

It's really nice. All white hull w newish paint, full width bolsters, nice newer aluminum trailer. It's been sitting under cover for a couple seasons. Boat won't disappoint.

Well my first boat project may be my last at this rate of return LOL.

I have a 22 Avanti in DE but I'm looking for more than 7k. Bobby from FB has an crazy 22 Avanti with a big blower motor....not sure if that one is for sale but I remember him saying last year that his other blue one was but again probably more than 7k. Most boats in that price range are probably going to need some work with something, either the trailer will be shot, will have small or tired power or need interior or something but you never know. 22 Avanti's are awesome boats for what they are.....defintely not for entertaining a large group of people but I'm surprised how well they do when you get into some waves

Sunrocket24 01-12-2015 07:03 PM

Scarab63's 24/7 Pantera was ridiculously amazing!! Can't believe it was that hard to sell but that is the market.

I will sell mine for less than what I have it listed for but I think I will have to part it out to get any money back. And that is a damn shame it is a very nice boat now.

scarab63 01-12-2015 07:12 PM

Thanks sun24. Not a lot of people with money want a little boat, and people with a little money can't afford it.

just wish I used it a bit more......
Oh well....
In hindsight if I was on a budget like o.p. I'd buy something nice minus power then save for motor / drive. Not do a complete restore. You've got to love the boat and work for that. And you'll never ever get your return. I don't love any boats and get bored ez and I certainly didn't love all the work. I like the fun stuff. Interior, paint, shiny stuff. Not grinding, cutting, building.

Buy That Carrera, save for power, Pm me in a year or two to thank Me for saving you a major ass ache of a project ;)

Sunrocket24 01-12-2015 07:38 PM

I hear you! I want a bigger boat but still don't mind running mine after all the work I put into it (and I haven't run it much). Need to figure out how BAD I really want a new boat?? I was also thinking about just buying another boat and being a 2 boat owner (starting to get crazy now LOL)

Wait a minute! You used it? Floating if off the trailer to take pictures does not count............

Haha. She got about 2 hours on her. Never came even close to getting it dialed :(
Lost a 600$ prop in the ocean.
Made a oil slick worthy of calling in the haz mat team in a lake.
Good times......

i tried that. For the average dude its a tough pill to swallow financially. Especially up here in the n.e.
to pull off 2 boats u gotta b baller status like occ joe.
wait 3 boats! Then u are a big deal !!!!!

dereknkathy 01-13-2015 05:24 AM

well i did say i wanted an avanti. there is this one 10 miles from my house...http://delaware.craigslist.org/boa/4783347701.html i think it is a little overpriced though.

dereknkathy 01-13-2015 05:29 AM

i am in the middle of doing a couple of 454's. most guys don't mind hanging on to their power when they sell cuz they are in the process of getting something else same engine would fit in. i don't see sunrocket's boat listed anywhere.

there is a one on copart. thinking of grabbing it just for the bravo setup. this crownline we have has 350 gen 1 alpha in it...

Sunrocket24 01-13-2015 06:50 AM

That Avanti looks like a big project but they are cool boats.

Yes his price is high but if you want a project maybe you can talk some since into him about the price?

Lol I literally dropped my phone. Yes 3 boats because I don't have a life and apparently don't need sleep. However I am pleased to admit I have more cars then boats rite now.

Thats your best option. Turn key! No projects. I will never EVER buy a non running boat.

Actually, it is a project in a way. The last time I had it out, it was leaking tranny fluid into the bilge. It runs great and shifts perfect, nothing wrong with it...just a time consuming leak to repair. Boat needs new gauges too, but EVERYTHING else is new including a whole new 4" aluminum Imco exhaust system and electric fuel pump used once!

dereknkathy 01-15-2015 05:43 PM

a friend of mine got sick of working on his boat. spent 25k on a brand new bayliner 20 foot outboard trophy. 6 years later he sold it for 15k cuz he was sick of working on his boat. but sorry shawna yours is out of my reach.

That's okay. I would be disappointed in myself if I got rid of it anyway! I would like to keep it until I eventually get it like new........I'm getting close!
