New to the Family

I can not put in words how excited I am to own this Pantera. My name is Kris Jackson and I have tried to buy this boat since March 2009. I called every month on the 16th like clockwork. It took 6 years to convince the owner to sell. He special orderd the boat in 1998 and Pantera personally delivered it to Arizona. The boat spent most of its life doing the Catalina ski race and one trip a year to Powell. I picked the boat up today and have not splashed it. GPS showes 85 on the old motor. New motor has 2 hrs and more HP. The boat came with a 28, 30 and 32 pitch props so I imagine it's fast. The weekend can not come soon enough.

Congratulations very nice, lets see more pic's. where are you from?

LakeShakeFever 05-28-2015 02:22 AM

I'm in Phoenix, AZ. The boat was in a climate controlled garage all its life. It's in immaculate condition. A barn find for the boat world. I knew the original owner of the boat for 15 years. Then in 2009 I found out he had a Pantera tucked away in his garage. I started calling him once a month for years just to shoot the s#/t about life and his boat. I finally cracked him with a solid offer and he reluctantly sold it to me. I boat every weekend and have not seen a Pantera on AZ lakes.

I have to call the engine builder tomorrow to find out the specs on the new motor. The boat ran 85 with a mild built hp500 and procharger. The new motor is 598ci with FAST fuel injection and a procharger.

motoracerx 05-28-2015 07:26 PM

Nice. So what is it...year? .length? a model name?

GB 05-28-2015 08:29 PM

Suweet.....Congrats.

LakeShakeFever 05-29-2015 03:55 AM

Thanks everyone for all the compliments. It's rewarding to find the boat that I've always wanted and plan to keep. I change boats like I change underwear and this one's a keeper. We set up our camper at Bartlett Lake and we'll be on the water for the next 3 days. I changed motor/drive oil and drained the gas. The boat started right up after sitting in a garage for 3 years. I'm going to test some different props this weekend and see what the boat likes. I will post up pics this weekend and tell everyone about my first ride in a Pantera.

So....I'll politely ask again...what the hell is it? Length, model name, year? Is it a secret to the 'outsiders'? lol

Nice. Very original. You must be a 70 yr old blue haired fu k.

I bet thats not a secret.

A simple question i asked just to get a smart ass answer. Is that how you live your life? Being a cun t?

Didnt your daddy play with you as a kid? Or did he just drop you off at the orphanage? Is that the reason for your dikish attitude.

Congrats on your boat, Kris!

Of course i get that its a pantera and after zooming in, its 28', but does it not have a model name and year? Pantera is the manufacturer.
And still no year on the boat?

You have a 2002 sonic 31ss...i had a 1994 powerquest 270 laser.
Op has a Pantera 28...year and model unknown.

Im a simple man just asking what i thought was a simple question. Year, model, length.

'Me: Hey joe, i bought a boat.
Joe: Oh yeah, what kind is it?
Me: What do you mean dumbass? The kind that floats, retard.

-not directing any perceived inflammatory comment toward you deemo. Thanks for the reply.

onesickpantera 05-31-2015 10:14 AM

From reading the original post it looks like it's a 1998 Pantera 28. And "Pantera 28" is the model.

You certainly have made an azz out of yourself on this thread. I would guess that many others will agree with me.

Stormrider 05-31-2015 08:23 PM

Motoracerx, most guys on this forum know Pantera.
4 models
24 since 1976
28 since 1980
36 since 2005? 4-5 built?
41 since 2008? 2 built

We know it's the 28 single from the pics. As its bigger than the 24.
28 sport is the model most people have (unless one of the race boats) comes as single or twin.

Sorry no one clarified/answered your question. I was kind of waiting for the OP to.

Wow I missed this! Making friends in here I see.

LakeShakeFever 05-31-2015 10:04 PM

We just got back from a 4 day camping trip. I love this boat so much. The ride is unbelievable. The faster the better it rides. I was hoping for more speed, the boat ran 78. It has a very conservative tune and 3lbs of boost. I am going to run 5lbs of boost and prop up to a 30p. Thanks again for all the compliments. I'll get up some pics as soon as I can upload them.

I didn't start the BS. Some dic k had to be a smart ass and instead of simply helping a guy out who is relatively knew to boat ownership, let alone Panteras, chose to be said dic k.

Friends? Overrated.

Again, the forum dic k chose to be just that. A simple question was asked.... a legitimate question at that, from a guy new to boat ownership and certainly new to Panteras.

Why did dude have to be so arrogant and condescending?

Sorry, but I don't have the passive, Mr. Rogers attitude that you may have.

And to all... I don't do prick-ish attitudes well. Maybe it's my Class A personality, Scorpio, racing mentality combined. But regardless, there's no need for anyone to be a dic k when a legiimate question is asked.

I apologize to those who may have been offended...except to the dic k. I'm a grudge holdin' kinda guy. lol.

tomcei 06-01-2015 06:37 AM

lol...

I didn't see anyone being a dik. I saw a couple people making fun of you a bit because you didn't take 60 seconds to read the opening post.
