Damn that’s a good looking 28. I had the same problem with my 28 going brown on the vinyl. I could never get rid of it either and even tried some harsh chemicals. It’s u.v. damage I believe so it won’t go away. But disappointing as I can see you too take great care of it.

I wipe it down with 303 before and after every time taking it out. It seems like the new vinyl doesn’t have as good durability because the EPA doesn’t allow a certain chemicals. I hear a lot of boat manufacturers going towards a silicon fabric which is more durable than the new marine vinyl. Not sure how true this is or not.

I haven’t heard of that but can believe it. So a bunch of old vinyl we need to get rid of because it turns yellow is better for the enviorment. Lol. I am going with a high grade vinyl and alcantara from Germany so I will see if we have any more luck with that. Maybe the Germans still use the good stuff lol

The interior on that 28 is a good candidate for the old rattle can vinyl spray. A couple months back thisistank was posting about what he used on his cigarette vinyl in the cigarette forum. Obviously not an ideal fix, but if foam is still good might last you another 5 years. Got nothing to lose by trying it.... Send us some updated picks if you do try it.

Curious if that 28 Pantera on trailer would clear a 6ft 10in height garage door? Looks pretty low on the trailer. I'm looking for a 28 something and have 40ft of garage, but am restricted by standard height door.

Jo told me many years ago that the brown pattern coming through the vinyl was a problem with the glue they used to glue the backer onto the vinyl. there's nothing you can do to get rid of it since it's coming through from the back side. Was an issue back in the late 90s early 2000s. I did hear the vinyl spray paint was a quick fix but won't last

You know, I may give that a shot just because I want to test the durability of the spray stuff. It probably won’t look good but just might try it. My friend used it on a jet ski and it worked well. I can measure the height when I pull it out of storage is a month or so.

ahh I didn’t know that. That explains why even bleach doesn’t do anything. That’s a shame. Maybe just give the rattle can a shot for fun.
