Hey Guys,
When I say it runs 86 MPH is because I have GPS this boat recentley here in the bay.The boat is turning a labbed finish 28 Pitch 4 blade Bravo 1 at 5700-5800 RPM.The motor was just built by Native racing engines here in Miami and made on the dyno 647 HP and is a 540 CI GM motor with 9-1 Compression. It has Stainless marine exhaust.
It has a 3 man bolster in it with center steering. The dash could be moved forward to allow for a 6 man bolster or back seat but would require some rig work and labor. We use a diffrent race set up for the cockpit in the last couple of years.
The boat does not have a cabin. It has a lighter race lay up with no cockpit liner and additional race bulkheads made out of Baltek Deco Lite panels.Since the boat does not have a full pleasure cockpit liner and cabin we save approximately 800 pounds compared to a full pleasure set up.I weighed this boat back in 1995 and it came out to 4,650 Pounds with no fuel.
Hi Bruce,
You just need to get the slip down like we talked about ,you will see the speed increase.BJM 28 runs 89-90 MPH with a 700 HP blower. I won with BJ in Maryland APBA National 2000 in P3 class with this boat.Like Mike Carter States Glenns 28 ( Danger Kitty )with a 620 EFI in a full pleasure set up is spinning a 28 Labbed 4 blade prop at 5300 RPM and running 83 MPH on GPS.This 28 weighs 500-600 pounds more than yours. My Black F1 boat has a 675 HP blower and saw 93 MPH on the bay before the drive let go.Your boat just needs to have the right set up.Get it down to me and I will dial it in for you.I want you to win and have the boat run at its maximum potential.
Hey Mike,
It would be a good P3 class boat or detune a bit and run P4.I think for a customer that wants to race for the first time P3 class running near 90 MPH is a bit much.I think 70 75 MPH class is a great way to get your feet wet and compete with boats more in the 28-32 foot range.See you soon at the races.
Regards,
JO

Mike.... I wish I knew.. We have the power..No doubt about that.
Jo feels that its in the drive set up . He thinks we are still too high. Or else, he suggests, get rid of the extension box. Either way, we dont have time to drop the drive because race season is here. I wish someone wouldjust tell me how deep my prop shaft should be below the bottom of the boat. Right now it is 2 3/4".
any help would be welcomed

Bruce,
MY boat with a full cabin and all the extra crap, 2 tool boxes, a sink, blah, blah, blah ran 74.9 on the GPS last week with 3/4 tank of fuel with a 575SCI.
Your boat should be a lot faster than mine!

Bruce, did you get a chance to try a five blade to cut the slip like a Hydromotive or herring? I am also curious about how many races between rebuilds in P3 or P4 classes. Thanks, Chris
