Just joined the family!

I finally found the right one!
She's been taken back to her birthplace for a
freshening up!
I am quite the proud Papa.

And a bit of the business end.

Stormrider 02-28-2004 06:13 PM

I would like to thank Pepe, Jo, Linda and especially Barbara for all their help they have given me in aquiring this boat. I am extremely happy to be an owner of a Pantera. Right now I would not have it any other way.
I would also like to thank a few OSO members for their expertise and opinions, from which I have learned greatly from (and still am). You know who you are.

All I can say is, great days to come! :D

georges 02-28-2004 07:36 PM

Stormrider,
As the "seniors" (Pantera owners that is) have said to me: "welcome to the Pantera family"!
The business end looks very similar to my new addition. Looks good. What year and can you give us the specs?
GB

TURBOED 02-28-2004 08:17 PM

what engine does that bad boy have?

Stormrider 02-28-2004 10:42 PM

It has a 454 Magnum 365hp.
Full hydraulic Marine Machine steering.
Drive shower. K planes. Ya know... the usual stuff.

I can't exactly remember the prop, but she ran strong...
on the speedo 70mph at 4950rpm with the drive tucked in and tabs up. This is my 1st HP boat. I can see I've got some learning to do. It sure is different from the 40ft twin diesel express sport-fisherman I'm used to driving. ;)

The boat is in really nice shape and just needs a little TLC. She'll be up on the LI sound this summer.

Georges, I talked to David about your boat.
I remember loving it before Albert put it up for sale.
Does it have a back bench? I remember it just
being a 2 man bolster setup.

Funny, that's how I feel about my kids too! LOL

My rides gotta be somewhat family friendly... so I believe I'm quite lucky to have found this one.

Stormrider 02-29-2004 04:09 PM

Duunoit, I was told no two were the same.
So what???
It's cool to have a twin.
At least its not an army of clones! :)

duunoit 02-29-2004 05:19 PM

They're not exactly the same... It looks like yours has one more stripe than mine. Still, it's a dang fine looking boat, if I do say so myself. What year is it? Mine is a 1992.

Chris

duunoit 02-29-2004 05:23 PM

bow shot

Unique in it's own way...

duunoit 02-29-2004 05:26 PM

I thought I was going to post a picture of the bow... at 730k it's probably a little too big...

Chris

Stormrider 02-29-2004 08:44 PM

Sorry not to note this earlier... it's a 1995.

rchevelle71 03-01-2004 08:29 AM

Sweet ride, I Hope to be in the market next year for a similar ride.

MIAMIBOYZ 03-01-2004 09:27 AM

:D Nice rig, let her rip and welcome aboard.

Albert

Caincando1 03-01-2004 03:07 PM

Nice! That's even an SE. Got an interior pictures?

duunoit 03-01-2004 03:09 PM

Brian,
I believe I am going to take some tonight just for you. I think I remember telling you I was going to get you some a few months back...

Boat looks to be in great shape, good luck w/it

Stormrider 03-01-2004 05:00 PM

Thanks for all the kind words guys.
It just needs a little updating, especially the dash/throttles. I'm hoping to get to it this season.

I'm another happy / proud Pantera ownerl :D

FeverFan 03-01-2004 06:23 PM

Nice boat!

Is that a 24' or 28'? That cabin looks to roomy for a 24 footer.

duunoit 03-01-2004 06:26 PM

It looks longer than mine (24').

Chris

Stormrider 03-01-2004 06:43 PM

It's a 24 SE.
Maybe it looks deceiving (long and low).
There isn't much headroom.
I'm 5'10" and when sitting in there I have to hunch over.
I'm sure it's fine for sleeping in, and it'll work for the little ones.

georges 03-01-2004 07:10 PM

Niiiice cabin space!

Out There 03-01-2004 07:24 PM

Stormrider,
Very good looking boat!
The dash looks pretty good to me.
Can't wait to hear what you think after a few hours at the wheel.
My 28 is at Pantera for some updating as well. The Nunez family are the best!
Really a pleasure to deal with.
Greg

Stormrider 03-01-2004 08:09 PM

Pantera572, the dash is clean but maybe a bit dull?
Was thinking of some Puple bezels, wheel and white/purple sticks, just so it kinda jumps out at you.

I'm sure I saw your boat at the plant. Is it all white and no graphics?

I look forward to some wheel time too, just wish I could have had a lesson from Jo. I'm sure someone out there would like to show me how its done. ;)

I'm hoping a few yrs with the 24 and the family will fall in love w/ HP boating... then I'll have the green light to look for a 28! :D
But 1st I've got plenty of time to enjoy my new ride!

I'll post some updated pics when I get the boat, and if/when I do the dash.

Caincando1 03-01-2004 11:02 PM

I'm in love.................

Thirsty Turtle 03-02-2004 06:09 AM

It Looks Great

Thanks for the pics. You are gonna love the boat!

Bruce

Out There 03-02-2004 06:58 AM

Stormrider,
Yes the white 28 you saw was my boat.
When I pick it up Jo will give me a lesson in rough water handling.
I need one on throttling in swells.
Keep us informed when you get it out.
Greg

Stormrider 03-02-2004 07:33 AM

572, I hear ya. I'm from open water, but I'll just need to learn to tab and balance her properly. Plus learn to get used to the speed.

Cain... thanks.

FRIENDSHIP 1 03-03-2004 01:11 PM

Welcome to the family. Take your time it will come to you. Good luck. She looks good.
Joe
