Hey Full Throttle 525

When is that boat coming up north? I was in the Pantera factory over a month ago and saw your boat, it looked like it was almost done  Shoot me a PM when you get it up here, I'd love to see the completed product.

Full Throttle 525 04-12-2004 11:25 AM

Hey Guys...

Sorry..didn't get it yet. :( :(

I didn't hear from the factory last week, but I spoke to Linda this morning and she said JO will call me to give me a status report.

I'm going back to Bonita Springs,FL late Friday night and will be going over to the factory next week. Hope to take the boat back to Bonita with me. Sure would be nice to blast in Florida with B-Stubb before I take it north for the summer.

I'll keep you guys posted as soon as I hear something.

Can't wait for Pepe to put smiles on my face..

:D :D :D :D

Full Throttle 525 04-12-2004 09:43 PM

Hey WildThing..

I love my old boat..except this year I'm going to hire a few guys to blow it up...took me a week last year.:D :D

Damn lips looked like Louie Armstrong's!!

JROMY 04-13-2004 07:48 AM

FT525- Didn't you post on another thread that the boat was supposed to be at last year's Norwalk boat show in October, or was that the inflatable??:D I know there's a couple of us that would love to see one of these 28s up close!

Funny.....I was just thinking the same thing. Wasn't it almost complete in Sept.- Oct of '03?

Full Throttle 525 04-14-2004 10:14 PM

WildThing..

I would use that contraption....but, does it come with directions? Looks like a vacuum cleaner to me and I don't know how to use a vacuum cleaner. Do you need an outlet? Do I put the boat in the water first then try to blow it up? I'm totally confused. Shouldn't I ground myself?

Hell...seems easier to hire someone. No liability on my part.

Full Throttle 525 04-16-2004 01:04 AM

That's one helluva a vacuum!!

Too bad it doesn't have wheels...

Hey Mike:

I have a couple of pics on a thread that I posted 4/1/04.

http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...threadid=75675

The engine is in, cockpit fans installed, drive is on and seats should have been installed last week. Cockpit & bow cover will be fitted after seats are installed and a few minor odds & ends. Hydraulic steering just needed to be attached to the drive.

Here are a few more pics from April 1. I'm going over this Tuesday. I'm just waiting for the trailer and then the call for a sea trial. Hopefully end of this week.

Will keep all posted.

Ron

Yawn....

:p

JROMY 04-18-2004 09:58 PM

It was almost 80 degrees today.... a perfect day for a blast in the Sound! How long can it take to bolt on some steering and bolt in a couple seats? Isn't the lay-up time and "getting your place in line" the thing that's supposed to take so long with custom boats? I never thought bolting on hydraulic steering was a multiple month endeavor ?? Those of us in line for rides are getting impatient :D

Full Throttle 525 04-20-2004 08:00 AM

Hey WT:

I'm going to head over to Boca Raton on Thursday to see my Mom & Dad. I don't know if I'll have a chance to stop at the factory, but I'd like to.

I don't think the boat is finished just yet and I don't know if the trailer is in.

I'm sure getting antsy. Sorry about not calling, been working on my short ga.. uh, a 2 acre parcel for commercial development.

Will post if anything is new.

Later

JROMY 04-22-2004 07:15 PM

I hate to even ask, but Thursday is basically over (8:12 pm)......

Did custom screws have to be custom ordered to screw the bolsters in, or is the custom screw driver to screw in the custom screws currently custom ordered and taking more time?? :D :D

Full Throttle 525 04-22-2004 10:16 PM

Hey JROMY:

Went to the factory today and saw Pepe, JO, Linda & Barbie. Lots of work going on there.

JO said he & I will sea trial my boat Wednesday or Thursday of next week. I can't wait. Not much left to do. Finalizing the seat installation, bow & cockpit cover, some quick connect bumper connectors, the balance of the hydraulic steering, some gas, a little oil, prop and off we go. Yee HAA !!

Behind me is Scott Ferguson's awesome 36. Looks like the graphics on that puppy will look wild. Shouldn't be long for him.

Saw Domenic's boat, what cool graphics he'll have. I think he boats in New York somewhere, don't know if it's LIS. It would be really cool if he and I could ride together.

Also saw American Express's boat and that mean looking engine. Wow, is that 28 going to fly.

Barbie said she'd trailer the boat to Connecticut for me.

Oh, how happy I will be boatin' soon!! :D :D

NASCAT 04-24-2004 12:14 AM

Turboed,

I'm pretty much on schedule. My boat was due by the end of April & it will probably be May but I've asked Jo to do many custom things as well as have made many changes. Jo has worked well w/ me on all occasions!

JO - PANTERABOATS 04-24-2004 10:55 AM

Full throtle, Thank you very much for your gift!!! That book is awesome! As a matter of fact, I stayed up last night reading it. I got a couple of great ideas out of it for the contract I am about to sign for the Patrol boats I showed you. Thanks again, Pepe.

TURBOED 04-24-2004 11:31 AM

THANKS FOR THE REPLY AMERICAN EXPRESS

Full Throttle 525 04-24-2004 04:22 PM

You're very welcome Pepe. Glad you liked it.

It's too bad I don't have any properties near the water. I could use a patrol boat or two when I go collect rents!!:D :D

Indy 04-30-2004 04:54 PM

FT 525...did you sea trial it yet? It's getting nice up here.

Full Throttle 525 04-30-2004 09:08 PM

Indy:

I'm on my way north now...should be in CT by Monday early a.m. Didn't sea trial Thursday, but should be later this week. Will let you know as soon as I hear. I'll be out of commission from Sunday morning until I get home Monday. Later

Just out of curiosity, are you making a lot of changes to the boat or does Pantera have you on a low priority list? Looking back at some other threads, it sure looks like your boat has been about one weekend's worth of work away from being completed for quite some time now....?

DOMZ PANTERA 05-05-2004 04:15 PM

HEY FULL THROTTLE, thanks for the news on my boat. I boat on Lake George NY [ which is upstate NY] Saratoga area. I would love to hook up and boat sometime. This is my second 28' PANTERA. On lake George there is mine ,my buddies Sonny's 28 and 3 24 PANTERA'S . DOMZ

Full Throttle 525 05-05-2004 10:47 PM

Hey JROMY:

There has been no major changes made. I'm just patiently waiting.

FT525

JROMY 05-05-2004 11:12 PM

FT 525 - You are waiting WAY too patiently in my opinion. Have you seen the thread below ? It looks like Pantera may have a habit of delivering boats to their customers when it's convenient for them. Pretty sad!

http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...threadid=59192 ?

I'm sure I'll get fully berated for this because Pantera is a special custom boat that you deserve to wait for in everyone's opinion...but give me a break. I could have run my Checkmate and completely beaten it to death 3 or 4 times and still gotten 3 or 4 new ones in the time it has taken for one boat to be delivered! I'll be the first to realize Pantera is a superior boat, but when you pay for one and apparently they can't deliver...AM I MISSING SOMETHING??????

No offense to Pantera, and I've read the star reviews, but just like Powerplay....I'll BUY MINE USED!!!!!

Hey DOMZ:

I'm assuming this is your awesome ride(see below pic). I had taken this pic last year and saw a boat exactly like this last week.

I thought you boated on LIS. Right now I'm just waiting for JO & Pepe to give me the high sign for my sea trial.

I'll be the big five O (50) this July 17 and hope I'm smiling before then.

I heard that there are a lot of hot women that love to ride on go-fast-boats on lake George. Isn't that the place where the Playboy Hotel was located?

If so, I believe I was there.

Anyway, I'm back in CT for the summer and was thinking about getting some Pantera owners together in LIS this summer. Maybe we can get a Northeast club together. I'm sure you can't be too far behind me in delivery. Give me a call on my cell (203)640-4009 and we'll talk about getting out on the sound. I know JO told me about Anthony Mone on Candlewood Lake who wants to get together and a few others.

Looking forward to a summer Pantera convention.

Ron L.

Full Throttle 525 05-05-2004 11:38 PM

Hey JROMY:

That's one helluva post. Do you think that the guy in my above post is the same one(DOMZ PANTERA)?

I really don't know what to say.

DOMZ PANTERA 05-06-2004 08:04 AM

Thats no me[domz pantera]

DOMZ PANTERA 05-06-2004 08:09 AM

HEY FULL THROTTLE, I should probably read my replies before i send them. That should say thats not me, i did not post that reply. I will call you about getting together this summer. THANKS DOMZ PANTERA

Full Throttle 525 05-06-2004 10:20 AM

Hey DOMZ:

If that's not your boat, then what boat is?

JO - PANTERABOATS 05-06-2004 11:50 AM

JROMY,

It seems to me that you have taken it personal to go out of your way and instigate one or two of my customers on this site. Ron ( Full Throttle 525 ) is more than a customer to my Family and I and will be boating shortly. We bend over backwards to satisfy every Pantera customer whether they buy it new or pre-owned somewhere else. It does not make a difference to me whether its a 1975 or a 2005 Pantera.

Like you state in your post that you can beat your checkmate 3 or 4 times to death and still gotten 3 or 4 new ones.

Well that is the difference of owning a Pantera and a Checkmate. Our boats WILL NOT DIE. Yes, they may take longer than a Checkmate to build but we do not mass produce our boat line. They are custom made to order to our customers exact specifications. We offer alot of boat for the money.

Yes, We did fall behind last year on a few boats due to 2 bad accidents we had but we are busier than ever and catching back up on our delivery schedule.

If you want to buy used go right ahead, that is your decision and we will be happy to have you as a Pantera owner.

Regards,

JO - Pantera Boats

JROMY 05-06-2004 12:45 PM

Jo- thanks for the reply. Not trying to instigate...just trying to figure out what could be holding up the delivery of a boat that by all accounts appears to have been nearly completed around a year ago. FT 525 - hope you weren't offended by my post. It was by no means trying to stir up a problem. I'm looking forward to seeing the boat out here on the Sound this summer!

JO - PANTERABOATS 05-06-2004 12:57 PM

Hi JROMY,

You will be seeing Ron's 28 shortly and the next few even faster. Get Ron to give you a blast in his 28' this Summer.

We are catching up and 2004 and beyond look much better for my Family and I.

Regards,

JO:)
