Re: 28 Sit Down ??
Boat looks great B-Stubb. My 24 has sit down seating and I like it however the seats are from formula and take up a lot of room in the boat. Does PPI make something a little lower and more compact than your seats?
|
Re: 28 Sit Down ??
Nosecone was a hydromotive yes ppi does cut that seat down if needed .Problem PPI only does OEM boats I just got lucky and worked with them and had be veery patient . Looking at the boat I would cut the top off the seats if I were building it for curb apeal but the head rests work super well .Wouldnt change them for that reason. If someone wanted PPI seats you would probaly have to have Pantera build them through PPI .
|
Re: 28 Sit Down ??
Im throwing out the offer if Joe or pepe want to ride and see how they work .I realy want a white pantera button up shirt in XL I will buy gas and give rides in Miami .Cant beat that
|
Re: 28 Sit Down ??
Oh and if Pantera will make the sit down I will weld bases for them with my patented foot rests .Shown in the picts

Re: 28 Sit Down ??
Went a little deeper on the X and slowed down but played with trim and tabs Mike P Helped me some and the boat ran 91 and backed it up with a second 90 mph pass . Ran the OPBA poker run this weekend and it was rough ,but seats worked realy well .Had another drive issue we have got to do some homework on the drive problem. All these numbers are with 1/2 tank or more and all equipment plus cooler and 3 people in last run.

Re: 28 Sit Down ??

Re: 28 Sit Down ??
Hey Brian,
Glad to hear the boat is running strong.Looks good to.I will need to take it out for a blast with you soon. Tomlinson's Pantera 28' ran 95.8 MPH on GPS one time with me in it and would run in the low 90s consistent with fuel and a few passengers. My customer that purchased the boat from him never dialed in the props.I felt it had a few more in it.Remember that 28' also had a # 3 A Speedmaster drive. The motor dynoed at 890 HP on pump gas. I also heard of a customer of ours in Arizona that powered his 1998 Pantera 28' with a single 1300 HP with a Stock Bravo 1 and ran way over 110 MPH in a Poker Run speed run.I heard he banged the drive with in a few minutes. His boat was a full pleasure version. I have run a few 28's right around 100 MPH but they have not been in a full pleasure version. Remember "power means nothing with out control ". :p Will get together soon. Put your kill switch on while boating. Regards, Jo - Pantera Boats |

Re: 28 Sit Down ??
XZ with imco shafts

Re: 28 Sit Down ??
Jos comment about being in control for as fast as it runs its on rails right now . With the 5 blade its fool proof sort of
|
Re: 28 Sit Down ??
Brian -
Scott was impressed as hell when he got back after the ride you gave him and Ron. He told me he couldn't believe how in control the boat felt. He said the motor sounded awesome also! Good luck with your drive issue - maybe you should bolt on a # 6 ..? |
Re: 28 Sit Down ??
You might look at an imco sc, after I had mine re-shimed, have had no problems, also max machine has a good drive. Just a thought ,five blades have a lot less slip than a four blade, and with all that torque its very hard on the drive, you might want to go back to a four blade, I spin a 31pitch at 6200 rpm and my motor makes 800ft lbs of torque at 4000rpm. The cam torque is on the down side after 4000, so it would be easier on the drive
