The ramp its self is not lit but there are parking lot lights that light the ramp. I am launching my 42 sonic there.

There will be plenty of drunks with spotlights to aide in night launching if need be. Last year, a 38' Awesome came in after dark.

I just hope no one does any ankle wading on Saturday morning like Kevin did last year! (DOH! Sand-bar!)

If you're launching your 42 I won't have any probs with my 386. I'm going to take a drive down from Alexandria, VA to Jordan's Point and look it over in advance anyway. It's always nice to get the lay of the land beforehand if possible.

Nope - I'm getting down early. I'd rather be one holding a spotlight and a beer rather than trying to launch at night. Now, recovering at the marina after dark is another story....

If you come down before hand give us a heads up and bring the boat. If its nice and a weekend there will be plenty of us on the river.

Yes, a lot of us spend the night on our boats. Hotels are about 10 miles away (at the intersection of Rt 10 and I95). It's your choice. Here's a little blurb I put in a mailer that I send out about a month before the Run...

• For anyone driving into the area Friday night there are several good hotels near the interstates. At the intersection of I295 and Route 10 is an Amerisuites (804) 530-4600. At the intersection of I95 and Route 10 is a Homewood Suites (804) 751-0010 and a Marriott Courtyard (804) 414-1010, both of which offer good trailer parking.

I got in last year about 11, just left the tiger on the trailer and slept in it...mosquitos were as big as pelicans, I'll tale off early this year so I can get there in daylight.

We booked at the Renaissance. We've never done this run before so if there is a better place, please, let me know.
