They do not have nearly the slips available this year. More boats have taken the spots and was told to maybe have about 20 slips but will have to see when the run is here, some boats might be out for the weekend. I made my reservations last winter, and PAID for the slip.

I visited the Renaissance in Portsmouth Tuesday morning - it's a beautiful facility! They only have 7 rooms left out of our "block" of 125. Also, there are two parties (Last names of Brown and Sawyer) that have reservations there for both Friday and Saturday nights - I hope they understand we start the Poker Run 100 miles away. (I plan on emailing them).

I also visited Tidewater Yacht - they're excited to have us! I guess they don't know us very well!

What does the new paint look like?

Hey Brian what do you think?

As backup to the Renaissance for those needing a room, the Holiday Inn is immediately adjacent to the Tidewater Yacht Marina and a very, very short walk to the party. Also a very short/cheap ferry ride away is the Norfolk Waterside and a couple of hotels there too.

Maybe if Jordan Point if full up, perhaps the spillover could do a creative raftup just off the marina?....

For those of you that are considering spending the night on the hook, there are numerous places to overnight , just below Jordan Point. Just be aware that tugs with barges travel the river 24/7. Down river, 3-4 miles, the river is wide and the chanel is narrow, leaving plenty of room to ride the anchor safely.

I have never done a Poker Run before and I am thinking about doing Jammin in James. Is this a good run for the a first timer. I am in Northern VA and have never boated the James. Will this be a problem? Thanks Lt.
