If it's your first time there, don't go under 2 hours either side of low tide. You need to get to know the bottom first. You can't go wrong hugging the island side, NOT THE ROCK JETTY TO THE HARBOR SIDE. If you're unsure, just follow some of the locals in and you'll have no problems.

You can actually go in at any time, I've done it a billion times, you just have to know the bottom. At low you really have to hug the island at the entry point. Once you get past that, leave some room between the boat and the island as you enter the Hole.

Gotcha. I think we decided we are going to Port Jeff harbor and hanging out near the dunes on the left as you head in on Saturday. I think we have 4 boats going over.

We are launching at the Norwalk ramp at 11:30. Then we are meeting the other boats in our group at the tip of Cockenoe Island closest to Norwalk land and heading off from there. We can run over to LI together if you want. We'd leave the other boats behind us but they know where they're going!

Hey Guys:
I'm not dong anything on Saturday yet. If you go to PJ let me know and I'll try and make it over. I was there today, played hooky from work. The wind kicked up later and we had lots of air on the way back.
