This past weekend was the Catalina Ski Race... I saw 20+ small boats run to Catalina and back... some as small at 20 feet with outboard(s). If conditions are extra rough, then the short course along the coast would be great. If your boat is 20 feet or bigger ... bring it on!!!!

Friday night is party on the dock with a steel drum band.
Saturday is the poker run, lunch, and dinner with a 80's dance band.... It will be a blast!!!!

Sign up.... www.scopeinfo.com and then book your hotel room at the Hyatt, Long Beach under the SCOPE rate of $169/night.

See you there, Chris

270 step Hallett.
Don't want to blow the drive getting air.
Dude, don't kid yourself. I ran a 24' Baja Outlaw in the ocean for 7 years....Did this run in it twice. You'll be absolutely fine.

I(scarabrick) ran up and down that part of the ocean many times when I was in the NAVY. I ran boats from 15 foot zodiac to a 50 foot alum work boat. As slow as 12 knots to 60 knots (38 larry smith scarab w three o/b). I know the boat can handle it but the drive with 850 hp thru a XR might be alittle much. My brother who owns the Hallett has zero time in the ocean (reading waves/swell ect...) We'll see how the boat runs at the poker run coming up out in Vegas.
Plus I'm sure you can get a tow/hook up since your connected in the Ventura area. As for us, we'll be waiting for sea tow while drifting down towards Mexico. Hope the fridge stays cool...

Man I miss the ocean runs

As you know the key is getting out of the throttle if the prop comes out of the water. The other key is not pushing an XR over 600 ft-lbs., which you are obviously doing at 850 hp. The easy fix for that is run 2/3 or less throttle during the run, and go a little slower. Join the fun!

I have the answer....sign up for the run....Go to the parties....Bring the boat....Run it around the calm waters of the Long Beach bay if it's too rough...this could be the perfect chance to get some ocean seat time in for your bro and you.

The high pressure sales have started...People wont rest until you're on the water in the Hallet that weekend!
