As blue stated yes there are many "rocks" that will get you if you do not know the water. GPS with charts are a must.

I have been running the river for 40 years and would also offer any help if anyone needs assistance.

We're coming!!! It will be our first "big poker run" and we're very excited. Riding in our friends 37 Outerlimits (Wild Thing-Ron Bender) with a total of 6 of us on the boat.

We'll be arriving on THursday. Praying for good weather and safe boating.

Can someone tell me where "Potter's Beach" is in the River? I went to it years back, it is a big sandy bay on the back side of an island.....can't seem to locate it.

I will be up there, but not in the run. Just going to drink and watch the big guns.

Potters beach is located on the Canadian side of Grindstone Island at the head of the island. If you are coming out of Kingston it is almost a straight shot.

Default We're coming too.

I am going to the 1000 Island run too. It sounds like I should get a chart for the local area waters for my GPS. I'm lookin for anyone else going from Ct to travel with. I will probably go Thursday afternoon or evening. Anyone looking for traveling together just let me know.
