What a wonderful event and a really beautiful weekend.

I just got back home from doing the Richard Petty Driving Experience at the Charlotte Motor Speedway and I am about wore out. Congratulations to Blane Aarup with the top speed in the men’s category at 143 MPH and Jim Lee and a couple of other folks also came in at 140+.

I first want to extend a special Thank you to Bill Taylor, his lovely wife and family and all the good folks at PRA for making this happen. A lot of money was raised for charity, over 75 kids got the ride of a lifetime, everyone had a wonderful time on LKN Saturday and all the food was excellent. I’ve done 38 poker runs now and this was one of the best for us thanks to PRA and Donzi.

Now for a very special thank you to Blane Aarup of Donzi for extending an invitation to Tommie and I to ride on the AWESOME 38 “Oh So Orange”. I knew it would be a super experience but I had no idea that I would get to meet the legend himself Craig Barrie and his beautiful wife Linda. What wonderful people and Craig put me right up front and after the first leg made the statement that we have laughed about all weekend, “Doc take the wheel” and right in the no wake pulled the wheel off and handed it to me. I drove approximately 70 miles of the 85 miles we covered and ran the tabs while Craig trimmed and throttled. Is was incredible to run with a living legend that holds more offshore championships then most anyone. Our communication was excellent, his instructions made it fun and I learned a lot that will help me to be a better performance boater. The 38 Donzi set down with 700’s is the nicest poker run boat I have ever been on and I cannot say enough good about it. For the money is it AWESOME and has so many nice features.

Craig ran the Donzi up to 115.6 this morning early before we left for the Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Congratulations to Randy Salter who won best hand and for keeping me laughing all weekend long along with Rob. My side hurts guys you should both start a comedy team! Randy also donated all the card stop boats and the folks who manned them and that was very generous of him.

I cannot forget Kenny Dean who did a lot to make this happen and I’m just happy that I was faster then Kenny today at the speedway because that is the only time I have ran faster them him! LOL

Swede great shots my friend and thank you do much for bringing the picture last night to the party do I could have Craig to autograph it.

I only hope this becomes an annual event and to all that attended it was really nice to get to know each of you and I hope you come back soon.

Doc, great synopsis. Sounded like a blast! And yea, Craig and Lynda are class acts. Lot of history there. Get Lynda talking about walking out on 188th street to find Arronow bleeding out. She was in the office when it happened.

Dock Holiday with Blane Aarup at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Blane was the fastest in our group at over 143 MPH and let's just say I lost the bet and paid for Blane's ride today!

I was #29 on the track and Blane was #26 and he drove the #2 car. I think we had 31 in the PRA group at the track today to drive.

How appropriate that Dock Holiday would get the #45 care that has the stagecoach on the side.

Hey I forgot to also thank Dave with Donzi who is the very nice guy that shot these pictures for me. He is the guy that tows the 38 Donzi around the county. He is a real gentlemen and has that boat perfectly clean and stock with water, line and fenders and the tank filled with fuel.

Dave you are the man.

Tank it is an experience I will cherish for the rest of my life. We really hit it off very well and he without a single complaint answered all the 1000 questions I asked regarding Don and the good old days. What I find most interesting is what Craig did for a living before powerboats became his life.

Here he is giving me some instruction. This was my first time in a Donzi, first time in a set down boat and first time driving while someone else throttled. He made it so easy and made me feel like a pro.

Well it has happened, it was a huge success and it brought a lot of money to the area and a lot of happy people.

PRA is first class and safety FIRST.

Great weather, great water, great boats, great people and awesome food. Thank you I gained ten pounds.

I was amazed at all the folks on the docks waving and giving us a thimbs up.

We stopped y the Yacht Club and the comments were very favorable and the fuel dock filled up fast with folks that were excited to see the Donzi and Jim Lee's Cigarette. Even Harry the dock master commented that the sailboaters had no problem with us.

Thank you all for a job well done.
