June 25th - Pirate Run - 2011

It's no rumor. The only shot I'd have if is HTG only runs one motor, and that would even be questionable.
Trust me...that's not what's keeping me away. I'd love to be there....and even run with Rob for as long as he'd stay half throttle. The weekend of the 25th both kids are in Lacrosse tourney and each in separate cities... So, while you boys will be indulging in the hedonistic ways that I live for. I'll be cheuffering and cheering on teenage lax teams from a lawn chair.
Have fun boys...I look forward to hearing the stories and seeing pics!!!

...and the way things are going right now, that may be the first time my boat touches the water in 2011. I ordered a new boat lift from Viking Boat Lifts back in December for a first week in May install. They still haven't been able get me an install date. I'm getting a little concerned here.
I'll work on the July 30th extravaganza.

We may have 2 rooms, the person in charge of the docks is either dodging our call or does not know how to use a phone... If we can't get a dock we are out so we will post here if the room are available. Feel free to PM me your contact info. Thanks

You can have mine if it helps you sleep at night, and gets that elusive rig to the water.

Not sure why this has not been taken care of, will be discussed for sure at the meeting Monday night. I know there was a dock freed up due to a boat being sold by a club member, not sure who was getting that one.

Nolan...we would love to see you make it. There are very few docks so its no biggie to throw in in the AM.....don't let that stop you. We are going to try real hard to bring some boats to Onieda from this neck of the woods...See you in a few weeks!

Nolan,
Give Bob a call at 607-739-6989 at his home. He obvioulsy had some communication issues during the transfer of his business. I spoke with Bob and mentioned you have been trying to reach him. He was absolutely unaware of any attempt. He's usually pretty good with the docks....he's been doing it for the last six years.
To everybody else concerned about docking.... as a FYI. We have had many years with nearly 100 boats. Several in close proximity to the Showboat. We only charge for the slips DIRECTLY in front of Showboat (I think approx. 14). Several participants have used mooring balls provided by the Showboat with great success. I believe you can get 3 or 4 boats per mooring ball. Show Boat has provided 6. This procedure would be similiar to rafting up in the Shallows at lets say the Swamp Run
except instead of a anchor line you are held in place by a Chain attached to a 800lb block of concrete. Additionally, several people have utilized the "wall" in front of Rainbow Cove Motel (about 500 ft. from Showboat) for several years. In the past, 99% of the participants that have come to the event have worked together to help each other with docking, mooring, rafting, etc. etc. Several participants unload their boat for the run and load it back up at the end of the day. Usually everything works out.
Really at this stage in the game everybody should be dusting off the Pirate Gear and practicing Xtreme cooler driving skills.
