Just a little heads up for everyone planning on going on Saturday, that weekend is the same as the Sauerkraut Festival in Waynesville, OH. That festival is a big event and creates A LOT of traffic on St Rt 73 and St Rt 42.
If your going the Caesar's, you might want to considering using I-71 to St Rt. 73. Just a little been there, done that, don't want to do that again! |
Waynesville is a mess that weekend. It is also hillclimb weekend, so watch out for motorcycles.
|
We will most likely stay the area and I know of one other boat from up north that will stay overnight. Any kind of places to go have some fun around there?
Figured we'll go out afterwards (espically since it might be the last get together of the season):drink: |
We live so close and with 80 degree temp in the forecast, can't pass it up. Not to mention have some fuel to burn left over from the poker run. Not real clear on the details other than be there early. 38 Cig with full crew. Is there a website or is this just an informal get together?

Thinking of stay too, then going to Alum Creek Sunday, can't pass up the weekend.
Sounds like there will be some big boats there this year and another good turnout! |
If you are going down towards kings Island there is always Bar 71 (Fields Ertel exit). Larger sports bar, decent food, band/dancing at night. I'm sure there are some smaller places closer to the lake tho.
|
Packed and ready to go. Staying with at a friends place tomorrow night in Richmond and will be at Caesars Saturday AM by 10:00.
Looking forward to a great day!!! Craig |
Looks like Bar 71 down off of I-71 xit 19 has a band on Saturday? We might head down there and stay at the Clarion Inn right next door. :drink:
Don't know much about it, but not seeing that many options for going out and having a good time afterwards. Looking forward to Saturday! Thanks KTM2212 |
pulled the boat out tonight...will hose off the cobbwebs in morning. Should be up there by 10:30ish....

let me start by apologizing to those who wanted to get out for some on water views that I never got to. My well planned day of being there just to watch fast boats turned in to entertain and keep the family happy instead. My early start got moved back by hours, my prepacked cooler ended up going back in the house to get repacked with stuff for everyone else - then left there and it kept going downhill from there. :picard1:
I did at least get some pics. http://holton.smugmug.com/Boats/Case...P1000982-M.jpg http://holton.smugmug.com/Boats/Case...P1010001-M.jpg http://holton.smugmug.com/Boats/Case...P1000988-L.jpg http://holton.smugmug.com/Boats/Case...P1000938-L.jpg http://holton.smugmug.com/Boats/Case...P1000964-L.jpg I'm pretty certain the 'toon was passing them in this shot. http://holton.smugmug.com/Boats/Case...P1010046-L.jpg And the best side by side race of the day... http://holton.smugmug.com/Boats/Case...P1010035-L.jpg Rest of my pics are here. About 100 of 'em. Click on the slideshow icon in the upper right hand corner. Heck of a nice turnout, and even with my late change of plans for the day, still a great time on the water. I gotta get out of this 'toon so I can get something to play with ya'll next year. Did the water patrol that showed up about the time I left shut down the fun? |
Very nice ! looks like a great time.
|
very good turnout this year.some very nice boats. great pics imaposer!!! here is a link to katt nipp getting a little squirrley.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ju-xRcioWro hopefully it works, if not search for halfcell69 i should have all the videos that i took up by tomorrow night. |

A good time was had by all. Nice to see ALL the boats ...hydros to tunnels.:drink:
|
As a first timer I had great time. Weather was perfect.
|
Awesome turnout. It was great to meet everyone.
|
First time there had a great time. We had the Red and white Eliminator.
|
We had a great time! (24Superboat)
Very good turnout this year with alot of very fast boats. Great variety from the nasty souding outboard allison, to v-drives and jets, to top guns, big outlaw, and the big Skater. Nice to see everyone again! |
How fast is the eliminator? That boat ran awesome.

We had a great time too! Fun to see everyone and their boats again. Bigger (and faster) turnout than the last year. We had the little yellow tahoe this time, no Fountain this year. My son especially loved the jet boats - he asked me if we could build/buy one to take next year.
Bob 50 mph (not gps :D ), 5 people + bimini top up, windshield open ... :picard1: |
weather was amazing had a blast
|
It was good to see all the hot rods out! What a day to burn off the extra fuel!! :coolcowboy:
|
Great get together, first timer and i'll be back. Thanks for all the great conversation, you guys have a great group !
Poser thanks for making all the effort, great job. |
We had a great time at this event! The weather was awesome with a real nice mix of HP boats and all had a chance at some point to strut their stuff! Thanks to Len for the food and a big thank you to whoever took all of the pictures and videos. Great way to document a fun day! :drink:

Yep, your boat still looks great, sorry we couldn't make it, maybe next year. Looked like you were running pretty good from the pictures.
|
It's a longer drive, but it looks like it's worth it. Alum is small, seem to run out of lake, fast. Not to mention the ramp.

That boat rocks! I couldn't believe how fast it was. What motor?
|
Had a great time! This was our first time at Caesar Creek. Thanks to all of those who were involved in putting this event together. I will be back next year.
|
Thanks to all that came out! The weather was awesome! I am very disappointed that we didn't get a group picture off of bridge. I promised lunch in the parking lot and it took too long because I ran out of propane. By the time I got back out a lot of boats were gone. That is going to be a priority next year. Maybe we can have a lunch boat/pontoon.
Special thanks to Andy (Mexican Offshore cat) for bringing extra food. Thanks to Boo Boo for the videos and Nick and poser for the pics. I also have a question... does anyone wonder why Bob and I wear helmets and life jackets religiously? I don't think anyone missed that moment on the lake.. There was even fishermen talking about it in the parking lot. You know what they say.. If your not living on the edge, your taking up too much space! Lenn |
