Just a little heads up for everyone planning on going on Saturday, that weekend is the same as the Sauerkraut Festival in Waynesville, OH. That festival is a big event and creates A LOT of traffic on St Rt 73 and St Rt 42.
If your going the Caesar's, you might want to considering using I-71 to St Rt. 73.
Just a little been there, done that, don't want to do that again!

Baja 2008 10-05-2011 02:18 PM

Waynesville is a mess that weekend. It is also hillclimb weekend, so watch out for motorcycles.

ndaniels 10-05-2011 06:05 PM

We will most likely stay the area and I know of one other boat from up north that will stay overnight. Any kind of places to go have some fun around there?

Figured we'll go out afterwards (espically since it might be the last get together of the season):drink:

ktm2212 10-05-2011 06:29 PM

We live so close and with 80 degree temp in the forecast, can't pass it up. Not to mention have some fuel to burn left over from the poker run. Not real clear on the details other than be there early. 38 Cig with full crew. Is there a website or is this just an informal get together?

This is as informal as it gets.

good turn out for an informal event. I've been to some poker runs with less of a turn out...:cool-smiley-011:

It'd be great if we had a motel/town in mind so we could all go out afterwards for some cocktails.. I figure somone from down that way will chime in with a suggestion. Last year we went down by Kings Island and stayed (we didn't see much nightlife around there)

Sounds like there will be some big boats there this year and another good turnout!

ktm2212 10-06-2011 09:13 AM

If you are going down towards kings Island there is always Bar 71 (Fields Ertel exit). Larger sports bar, decent food, band/dancing at night. I'm sure there are some smaller places closer to the lake tho.

WETTE VETTE 10-06-2011 09:58 PM

Packed and ready to go. Staying with at a friends place tomorrow night in Richmond and will be at Caesars Saturday AM by 10:00.

Looking forward to a great day!!!

Craig

ndaniels 10-06-2011 10:09 PM

Looks like Bar 71 down off of I-71 xit 19 has a band on Saturday? We might head down there and stay at the Clarion Inn right next door. :drink:

Don't know much about it, but not seeing that many options for going out and having a good time afterwards.

Looking forward to Saturday!

Thanks KTM2212

pulled the boat out tonight...will hose off the cobbwebs in morning. Should be up there by 10:30ish....

ImaPoser 10-08-2011 07:01 PM

let me start by apologizing to those who wanted to get out for some on water views that I never got to. My well planned day of being there just to watch fast boats turned in to entertain and keep the family happy instead. My early start got moved back by hours, my prepacked cooler ended up going back in the house to get repacked with stuff for everyone else - then left there and it kept going downhill from there. :picard1:

I did at least get some pics.

I'm pretty certain the 'toon was passing them in this shot.

And the best side by side race of the day...

Rest of my pics are here. About 100 of 'em. Click on the slideshow icon in the upper right hand corner.

Heck of a nice turnout, and even with my late change of plans for the day, still a great time on the water. I gotta get out of this 'toon so I can get something to play with ya'll next year.

Did the water patrol that showed up about the time I left shut down the fun?

GPM 10-08-2011 07:12 PM

Very nice ! looks like a great time.

booboo 10-08-2011 09:18 PM

Baja 2008 10-09-2011 10:01 AM

Awesome turnout. It was great to meet everyone.

HDMF 10-09-2011 11:14 AM

First time there had a great time. We had the Red and white Eliminator.

ndaniels 10-09-2011 12:01 PM

We had a great time! (24Superboat)

Very good turnout this year with alot of very fast boats. Great variety from the nasty souding outboard allison, to v-drives and jets, to top guns, big outlaw, and the big Skater.

Nice to see everyone again!

Baja 2008 10-09-2011 03:07 PM

How fast is the eliminator? That boat ran awesome.

Is that Kenny's old boat ?

bob_t 10-09-2011 05:28 PM

We had a great time too! Fun to see everyone and their boats again. Bigger (and faster) turnout than the last year. We had the little yellow tahoe this time, no Fountain this year. My son especially loved the jet boats - he asked me if we could build/buy one to take next year.

We had a great time at this event! The weather was awesome with a real nice mix of HP boats and all had a chance at some point to strut their stuff! Thanks to Len for the food and a big thank you to whoever took all of the pictures and videos. Great way to document a fun day! :drink:

Twin O/B Sonic 10-10-2011 06:25 AM

TDSTYG 10-10-2011 08:43 AM

Yep, your boat still looks great, sorry we couldn't make it, maybe next year. Looked like you were running pretty good from the pictures.

Its alot better than alum creek (i think). More boats, Nicer boats, The lake calms down a little after people have been racing after about 15 min., Alum is always so windy and rough.

GPM 10-10-2011 03:55 PM

It's a longer drive, but it looks like it's worth it. Alum is small, seem to run out of lake, fast. Not to mention the ramp.

I remember when Kenny put that boat together, that thing really runs !

Baja 2008 10-10-2011 05:50 PM

That boat rocks! I couldn't believe how fast it was. What motor?

32 outlaw 10-10-2011 08:56 PM

Had a great time! This was our first time at Caesar Creek. Thanks to all of those who were involved in putting this event together. I will be back next year.

Katt Nipp 10-10-2011 09:04 PM

Thanks to all that came out! The weather was awesome! I am very disappointed that we didn't get a group picture off of bridge. I promised lunch in the parking lot and it took too long because I ran out of propane. By the time I got back out a lot of boats were gone. That is going to be a priority next year. Maybe we can have a lunch boat/pontoon.
Special thanks to Andy (Mexican Offshore cat) for bringing extra food. Thanks to Boo Boo for the videos and Nick and poser for the pics.
I also have a question... does anyone wonder why Bob and I wear helmets and life jackets religiously? I don't think anyone missed that moment on the lake.. There was even fishermen talking about it in the parking lot. You know what they say.. If your not living on the edge, your taking up too much space! Lenn
