That boat rocks! I couldn't believe how fast it was. What motor?

To all that didn't get to see under Wett Vetts hood. You missed it! Craig takes his engine and bilge cleanliness very serious! Also, a lot of very trick parts on that rocket! In case someone doesn't know... This guy is no joke when it comes to his toy! Good job Craig!

Lynn, good idea on those helmets. I did not realize how violent that was till i saw the vid. Glad it came out ok.
|
So who had the fastest boat, what did it run ?
|
Lenn,
Thanks for the nice compliments. Your Check is quite impressive and it will be interesting to see how the 632 works in the Fountain. I know my 126 MPH pass was not the fastest, but likely the fastest from a NA single.:drink: The Skater said he hit 140 early and he made several passes after that so he may have gone faster. |
Not me. Even with the prop swap, and further testing, I only managed a GPS certified top speed of 37.9mph.:lolhit:
I guess sitting in the lake for the season and all that crap growing on the bottom really slows it down. I was able to hit 44.3 this spring. Damned dealer and manufacturer told me to expect mid 50's. :bong: Anybody want to buy a really nice(but slow) pontoon? |
Very nice ! what size Skater ? what power ?
|
The Skater seemed to be top dog, but i did see that eliminator on his heels a couple of runs.
|
The Skater is a great looking 32. It had a pair of blower motors but I don't know what power.
|
The Daytona looked to have been running good also.
|
Wish I could have made it, would have been fun. How big is the lake ?
|
WETTVETT... awesome setup on that motor! (pic over on boatfreaks).
I've heard the Skater had blown 572s.. don't know for sure though. The lake is what, like only 3 miles long where we run? Its small. |

Ran 90 while we were down there. It has a procharged 454 making around 650hp.

Very nice! It looked good doing it.
With all the wakes and the big turnout, I'm glad I brought the bigger boat. |
That is why I made my fastest pass with full tanks before all of the boats were there. Not interested in trying to pull a big number over a tore up lake! The downside to a 23' boat.
|
126 in a 23 ft boat sounds like fun to me :). The event was a lot of fun and it was awesome to see some fast nice hardware. Even cooler when you think about the fact that out of 30 or so boats probably ten ran over a hundred with two of them at or above 130. Nice turn out.

Thank you! At 10.9:1 its technically a pump gas deal, but I was running some fuel at the shootout knowing I'd be pushing it. Cheap insurance!:drink:
|
I would rather run a little race gas than melt pistons. It runs a lot faster than my 22 Daytona ever did, very nice.
