Here are some charts with distances I created. We have about 6-10 boats launching from Hunnington ramp in Newport News at 930am Saturday morning (at the foot of the James River Bridge)

4th year in a row that the PPP falls on a race weekend.......as much fun as this is I'd rather be wheel-hopping at 140 mph.

have fun and be safe!!!!

Yeah, its the third Saturday in July each year. The dates change but the weekend doesn't. Stay safe!

Just talked to a Richmond friend of mine. He is coming down from Hopewell Friday afternoon around 330ish, and some others are leaving the ramp in Hopewell Saturday morning around 730ish. Hope this helps!

If you need help with how to get there by water just send me the name of the ramp you are going to launch from and I can make a quick nautical chart with mileage for you.

The closest ramp to the PPP is at Jamestown marina but it's not that big. I usually put in at the ramp at the Chickahominy campground on rt 5. It's prolly the next closest ramp and it's nice and big enough for 35+ ft boats.

Water has been pretty low the past few months so if you are putting a bigger boat in, I would advise being extremely careful and only dropping at high tide. Seen numerous people with single axle trailers go off the ramp.

Watched a 32 dominator launch 2 weeks ago at mid tide. My biggest complaint is the lack of dock space. I pulled out at low tide last weekend and it was pretty low. I didn't go off but the wheels were close. Wish York county had a ramp on the James....all the York ramps are nice. Where do you run out of? Most Sundays we are hanging out over at the clay banks.

When Im going on the James I always launch from Hunnington Beach ramp. Its at the foot of the James River Bridge (Newport News side). I can launch there at absolute low and I have a triple axle trailer.

What boat do you have? I haven't been on the Chic that much in my Formula but I have a 33'6. I typically launch out of Governors Land. Been on the Chic mostly this summer on my friends Yamaha jetboat and my jetboat.
