Re: The Chicago Poker Run
Friday night premium open bar, I'm there.

Re: The Chicago Poker Run
Can we see some details on the Poker Run itinerary? Card stops, types of card stops (rolling or rafting), lunch location, etc. Just curious.
Thanks, Brian |
Re: The Chicago Poker Run
Lunch is at Pastrick Marina. There is a thread already about the card stop locations.
http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...5&page=1&pp=20 3 are off boats just outside of the harbor the other 2 are land based. We have a detailed itinerary with GPS coordinates that will be given at registration. After all, we need a little suspense :D |
Re: The Chicago Poker Run
Packing up the 20ft car trailer(Shogren trailer) with stuff and heading to Resorts Casino/Robert Pastrick Marina. I will see everyone at the gate.

Re: The Chicago Poker Run

Thanks, Brian Do you think, maybe, we've got the wrong kinda GPS's? :( My boat's parked next to Rio Roses on the trailer, in the parking lot. When we pulled up last night around 9pm, I got out of the truck at the guard gate, cause I was'nt sure where I should go, so I thought I'd ask the guard. Well, 3 security guards with guns came over to see what I was doing there after dark. Maannnnnn........ those people over there don't mess around. I joked with them for a few minutes and realized that they were really cool. :D I felt really safe last night leaving my boat there. I wish I did'nt take off my props before I left the house. Brian.... Is Janet bringing her dancin shoes for saturday night? :D |
Re: The Chicago Poker Run
Our team just wanted to say thanks for such a wonderful time. Congrats on your event.
Regards, Scott Shogren Shogren Performance Marine Hope to see your memebers at the Windy City Poker Run August 5th & 6th. www.windycitypokerrun.com |
Re: The Chicago Poker Run
Thank you Scott. It was great seeing all the hardware that you're team and Wyatt Fountain brought to our event. That MTI cat was fantastic!!!!!!! I got a chance to talk to one of the guys that you gave a ride to on the 2nd leg of the run, and he could'nt stop bragging about it. :D I think you made a believer out of him.
That 42 Poker Run Edition was just plain BEAUTIFUL !!! I hope you're not gonna sell that one, it's just too pretty. It was great seeing the Fountain Team play such a big role in our event. Thank you for all the help that you and you're team gave us. Your 3 boats that you brought sure "ate up" that lake Michigan 4-5's. :evilb: But then again, whatelse could anyone expect from Team Fountain with all the experience that you and your crew have with running our big waters. :D |
Re: The Chicago Poker Run
Thanks to all the board members and to those that helped put on what turned out to be a great event. Your hard work is truly appreciated.
A special thanks goes out to Donna and Ian for inviting me to ride along with them on the run. What a great time! Roger |
Re: The Chicago Poker Run
Mark and Dan - what a great event! You guys hosted a couple of wonderful parties, and even ordered up some Konrad water for MrCig and myself. It was nice to see the awesome display of hardware that showed.
Speaking of which... Scott, you made us Fountain guys proud. I had the opportunity to run with the Shogren/Fountain team for a good half hour. I was having so much fun cranking along with your 47, the 42 Poker Run, and the Rio Roses boat, that I never realized we overshot the first card stop by 40 gallons or so. It's All Good, was a nice run. Also, the folks at Pastrick Marina and Resort Casino were fine hosts, and special thanks to the guys on C Dock that tracked us down to tell us a "Sage" had just came thru the harbor and dropped the level 6 feet in a half hour. All my years in the Great Lakes, and never heard of such a thing... pretty incredible. No real damage, thank goodness, just a nick in one skeg from sitting on the bottom. I probably needed to sharpen those things anyway. :D Frank, I gotta get me one of those fancy GPS's with the pretty pictures telling me where to go. Until I figure out your side of the pond, compass headings just aren't cutting it. Nice to see you, Lois and the crew. Hope you get your gal back together soon. Thanks to everyone involved from Janet and I! Brian |
Re: The Chicago Poker Run
The water was perfect for incredible pictures. Thanks for all of the wonderful compliments. This was a very safe run and it was nice seeing boats running in groups for the whole run. Nice to meet so many wonderful people.

Thanks to everyone involved from Janet and I! Brian Glad to hear there was no major damage. Scary stuff! Thanks so much for coming to the event. It was great to see you guys. Your boat is one fantastic Fountain. I unfortunately do not have any pictures of your boat yet. I believe the white Helicopter must have been the one to photograph you. It will be a few weeks before I get those shots. I lam looking forward to seeing your Konrad Fountain flying. :drink: Dan |

Again, fine job putting on your event. It was a pleasure being there. Cheers, Brian |
Re: The Chicago Poker Run
Hey Brian,
Sorry for the late reply. Every registered boat will receive a Poker Run DVD and full digital files of all the pictures that were taken from the run. The blue helicopter took 1009 shots! I am not sure how many were taken from the white helicopter. I should know that in a few weeks. Any shots taken from the blue helicopter can be posted, enlarged and shared at no cost as long as they are not sold. I do ask if the shots are used for a commercial web site that the photographer is given credit for the shot. If there is room I'd also like the Chicago Poker Run mentioned if possible. The time frame for the DVD is ASAP. Normally it seems like a 4 -5 month turn around for most Poker Run DVD's. I hope are DVD will be much sooner. I will do what I can. Hope to see you and the flying Konrad Fountain on one of our fun runs. Dan 708-218-1566 |
Re: The Chicago Poker Run
Dan, U da man!!!
I don't know how you did it but the coverage of video and photography is second to none. I saw some of the pictures on Casey's from Extreme Boats Magazine camera and they are unreal. Crews on the land and different crews in the helicopters should make for a incredible video. All of the 56 boats that signed up get a copy of the video. |
Re: The Chicago Poker Run
When are the rest of the pics gonna get posted?
|
Re: The Chicago Poker Run
Hey Frankie, how did the camera turn out???
|
Re: The Chicago Poker Run
Hey, I want to see your video footage that you brag about.

Re: The Chicago Poker Run
Frank had video footage on my return back to the lunch stop. I was the first one back and drove at a fast pace. I figured if I were to break down, pulling up to the marina would be the place to break down.

Re: The Chicago Poker Run
Wally, the camera was on Scotts 48 Express Cruiser. I hav'nt seen it yet, Scott still has the camera and all the equiptment. I do know that about halfway back from Milwaukee, the camera must've gotten unplugged from the power inverter, from all the rough water we were contending with. :( I'll have to call Scott to see how the filmimg came out. :D

Re: The Chicago Poker Run
Frank,
The guys took the video player and wiring out of 48 this week. It's in my office unfortunately I have not had time to view it yet. Call me tomorrow, just received your message thought it was a bit late to call. Scott |
