That boat does look mint - can't wait to see it in person! I talked to the guy who all the marinas around here use and he can make me an angled flush mount so I can put the GPS right in front of the wheel angled straight toward me. That's the way I'm leaning right now.

Thanks guys - It would be much more convenient in front of the driver than on the passenger side. I really don't need the chart plotter in Lake George, I just want to know the speed. It took me an hour to figure out that SOG was the same as MPH, still trying to figure out how to hold the highest speed hit if it will do that. I'd be happy with a GPS speedo with a tattle tale.

XPRESS 33PP - I grew up on Skaneateles Lake (one of the finger lakes in upstate NY), knew it like the back of my hand and I would never have needed a GPS there. Seeing that I'm now on the Long Island Sound, the Sound is huge, with endless destinations, obstacles, tides, etc. as well as only 3 years of my knowledge/experience (some might quite possibly say stupidity ) the GPS is cheap insurance for me. I'm going to be relying on it a lot for trips, cross referencing it with my paper charts, plotting waypoints, and using them to get me to where I'm going without ending up on someone's reef (hopefully!!).

Jromy- I don't blame you for wanting one. I was caught in a heavy fog at night on the lake with my Searay before and wish I had one then. I 'm not planning on using the Powerplay like I used the Searay (booze cruises at night and camping in the narrows and all) but it is nice to have one on board. I just have to take the time to read the book and find out how to use the thing. I'd also like to know how fast I'm going or how fast we went without having to have the passenger relay it to me from the other side of the boat. That's why I'm thinking of adding the GPS speedo.

Hey JROMY:

Nice Avatar!! Cleaned FT all day yesterday. Was going to run it on the hose for a short bit today. Are you at the marina today? Dumping FT in this weekend. Are you going to take her out? Let's get together. Call me.

Hey Full Throttle - I am finally back home and man am I sore. I've decided that I would never buy a 47 Apache just because I can't imagine having to wax that much hull . The good news is that the boat is completely washed and waxed, and ready to go. I'll call you early this week because I'm ready to go out next weekend .

JROMY:

I did the same. Cris did the interior with her girlfriend and I did the outside wash & wax. Shoulders definitely ache. Ran it on the hose for a bit and fixed the trailer lights. Need a new caliper. Getting a few odds & ends from Dana Marine. I should have the lift in the water this week and will be ready to run with you this weekend. Looking forward to it.
