Finally!!!

Well, I survived my trip to Miami and returned with my new boat. John Tomlinson did the rigging, 525s with ITS XR Shorties. We took it for a quick blast before I left and I couldn't be happier. Speedo was bouncing around 90mph (we'll see in a couple weeks what the GPS has to say - probably 87ish is most likely). Here's a few shots....

Great looking boat!!! Congratulations :D Your going to love it, I'm thrilled with mine. Awesome boats!! I hope to see you on Lake George sometime this summer. I know someone just bought a 33 on the northern end of the lake too, but I don't know much about the boat I'll find out soon he has signed up for the poker run in May. Good Luck!!!! :D :D

Congrats on the boat. I looked at that boat at the Miami show and it is awsome. Thought about buying it unrigged and putting my power in it, but just not enough gain too justify. Good luck with it. Maybe we will see you at a poker run!

Beautiful! I can't say enough about the guys are TNT, they are great. Lucky Strike was down there getting some service work done and they had it done by the time we needed it.

I will definately have mine up there on Lake George at least once this summer!! Look forward to running with you guys. I was hoping to make it in May, but my girlfriend is going away, and I have to take care of the dogs, so it's going to have to be later in the summer.

I saw them working on your boat while I was there - sweet boat!

TNT was great to work with and did a beautiful job on the boat including some extras that I didn't even pay for. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to rig a boat.

I think you and Steve are personally responsible for creating this monster....but I have to thank you for it! :drink: We will definately be doing some boating with you this summer now that I have a way to get out East without knocking my teeth out. Speaking of that, will you still be driving an Apache????

Are you going to do the Poker Runs of America event in July???
Should be perfect water for that Powerplay. Once again beautiful rig and good luck!!!

Thanks for the congrats everyone else. T-Mone and Full Throttle - when are we heading out on the Sound? I'm going to be doing a little detailing this weekend and unshrinkwrapping (if that's what you call it), but I might be up for a blast if it doesn't rain all weekend. By the way, any idea how much trouble you get in for boating without a CT boating license?

Looks like the Apache will be around, although I do have two people potentially interested.

Your PP is no doubt the nicest one around and I'm really glad it all worked out for you !

Good things do happen to good people ! :D

Thanks! I am planning on the Old Saybrook run, if that is the one in July. In the mean time, I know there are a few of us planning some Claudio's runs also.

Long story made short, this boat was paid for and ready to be delivered to a long time customer who had owned several PPs (XPRESS 33PP owns one of them that his daughter had). He let Powerplay use this boat in the Miami show and when he got it back the motors and drives were gone (from what I'm told, to power a new 38 that was sold at the show). This was just before the final bankruptcy. The boat is a 2005 and at the most, may have seen water once before I bought it.

I heard the same story but was told by someone they heard that Dan never paid for the 500's and the drive's and they were repoed. Who knows?

I agree, I just don't understand why more people don't love these things. I think the 38' outdoes the Cig top gun big time, except for top speed.

I have heard from a couple of people that the 38'PP will outperform the 38' TG anyday. I have nothing against Cigs, just I think the PP's are just as good, if not better boats.

Question: How many other true 33' boats with no steps or notch transom, straight hull, full cabin, can handle big water with stock 496HO can do near 80MPH and look as good doing it?

Hey JROMY:

I think these goggles are what you'll need. I'm going to see if I can have them made with a prescription. Copy & Paste below.

Well, it looks like the weather is going to be clear, so I'm doing some detailing tomorrow.

I had TNT make me an angled flush mount for my GPS that I was going to mount over the cabin door, that angles the GPS toward the driver's seat. As I'm thinking more and more about this, I'm thinking I may go and buy a big GPS and mount it right where the compass is, and either relocate the compass to the passenger side, or eliminate it completely. It seems like this is the way Cigarette has gone. The new Garmins seem to all have daylight viewable screens, but will I have a problem if the GPS is completely flat in front of my steering wheel?

JROMY - I don't think you can view it from that angle. My Standard Horizon has a day light screen and can't be seen from that angle. It would be a great spot for it if you can have a angeled bezel made for it. I'm thinking of going to a GPS speedo, its just easier. I changed my stearing wheel to the one like that cig and had the hand rails painted. I think it looks much better.
