Ok guys, I have a 1995 33 sport deck that i have someone looking at and upon inspection he noticed the floor under the u shaped seating (where the potty goes) is flexible. It does not seem wet but rater a light layup. We are just wondering if this is normal or is the floor rotten. When you knock on it, it doesn't have that dull thud you get when something is wet so im assuming it was just made flexible. Thanks

I never mounted the crapper i just set it in there when i take the girls out. It really does not feel rotten it just flexes when you push on it hard. kinda like when i walk on the deck it has that flex to it.

It was rare, but its possible the glass/carpentry shop used a piece of 1/2" ply there, when it could have been a piece of 3/4". Or, it just was'nt screwed down to the center stringer for support before the compartment was glassed in. If your curiousity is killing you, cut a hole for a 4" or 6" pyhi(deck plate), off center, to clear the center stringer. You will have to countersink(recess) it, the thickness of your pyhi, so it remains flush with the floor surface. Reason being, there is so little height in that compartment to the bottom of the lid, and the toilet won't sit level as well. You can then screw and/or glass the floor panel to remove your flex concerns. Re-gelcoat the cutout to seal the hole before installing the new deckplate. Hope this helps.
