Thanks!
Steve - thanks once again for a fascinating thread about these boats that a lot of us grew up admiring, and several of us are lucky enough to own! The pictures, history, etc. are definately the best thing to hit OSO in a long time!

Im doing great..how about you..looking forward to the next generation of these PP's.. the only two boats in its class with big headroom is a 38PP or the 37OL..both great boats...with great heritage..Im waiting till end of year before I decide if I buy used and redo or get a New Epic..depends on how the top deck will look..and if someone who I know is working on it..it will look good along with an excellent paint design..

Cat you can see the space on the back of this boat that you gain with the outboards.they were a good idea for a option as Powerplay was rooted in triple outboard boats since day one.

I drove the 38 outboard when it had the 250xs as well as the 275 verados. It jumped on plane, rode dry, and cruised comfortably at 60 through 2-4' seas. With the steps the bow just stayed planted with minimal porpoising. It was very reassuring with the deep cockpit freeboard. I am 6' so seeing over The bow was never an issue.
We went to the Miami SBI races in 2004 and again in 2005 in the boat In solid 4' and enjoyed the ride. The engine compartment was deleted from this boat and a HUGE U-shaped lounge was added. The hatch ram is still utilized for a smaller access hatch for the fender storage. The current owner put a Bimini top on it which really allows you to cruise in comfort. I owned a 2005 33 I/O CC with 496's. The boat went 74 all day long with bravo one 28's. The 33 was so reassuring in rough stuff and still a practical boat for relaxing once you arrived. I know I am looking forward to Powerplay's ressurection next year. |

I think the pirate themed boat is for sale with 2004 250XS mercs. If I remember correctly it was a white boat with red and black skulls painted on the stern and bow.
