The 33 was the famous 32 Cobra we retooled in 94 with the new hull mold, raised the sides and refaired it to powerplay standards the 25 was influenced by the Linder shadow.

Hey Steve, what do ya mean "influenced"
When Rusty was working for Karl he told us the 25 was a ground up new hull...built from scratch. Just curious..

Steve 1 05-19-2010 03:11 PM

I flew back from Kuwait in 2001 to tool the 38 for Danny this was the 38 Hull mold.

This is Steve's story of his experiences at Powerplay not what happened to the company!

Please keep the comments about the owner of Powerplay, Dan Weinstein, off this thread.... Comments and questions are welcome about the building process and racing these beautiful boats.

Awesome pictures!! Keep em coming! I don't know much about Powerplay but a friend of mine had a 25 (i think) years ago. Where was the shop where you built these? I lived in Lauderdale in 2000 and remember driving by a place and seeing what looked like a 38 as you show in the pics. No name on the building?

I had the opportunity to see all the jigs and templates you used at powerplay for the different boats.I even have a template for the nonskid they used on the opens for repair. The tooling was so well thought out that I had always wondered who had spent the time to do all this. I got a lot of glass and foam from there and still use it today. The aluminum table that was in the north building was cool too. Very impressive glass shop and operation.

There was all good people there Pedro and Medina in the glass shop with trained helpers Jimmy doing a precise fit on the internal structures and keeping the jigs accurate,The riggers all good guys it was like a family.
