I think about 12 staggered 33's were done,The outboard combos were great with the light 200-2.4-2.5 combos. without question the IO especially the last 33/ITS combo was a hot setup and ran 92.

A little off topic, but tell us about the one half of a 33' (bow to stern) that served as a DJ's booth in Richard Pingree's bar in Beaufort, SC. That must have been an interesting project.

I don't know any of you. I have only been involved in offshore or performance boating for the past year. I have never heard of POWERPLAY boats before this thread. I am an engineer and I try my best to be a picky one. I have read this thread through three times. I am simply stunned by the level of craftsmanship I am seeing.

This is a great example of what a small, highly skilled, highly motivated group of people can accomplish given the right environment. Steve, you and all the people involved with the design and creation of these boats should look back on this part of your lives with an intense amount of pride. These boats are an incredible accomplishment. In my business experience, this is a rare occurance.

If POWERPLAY was still in production now, I can picture autoclaved pre-preg carbon fiber hulls with honeycomb cores and you wouldn't dare paint it!

To those of you fortunate enough to own one of these, keep them well and keep them wet!

Sir thank you for that post ,the real acknowledgments go to the Boss Danny who made Powerplay ,nothing went out that he would not personally own,like I have said before being the last one to leave many times ,would see the rigging shop open and there was Danny personally redoing something he did not like , we were stepping more into the 21st century I was putting a new epoxy tooling system together as well,that would have been used on the 40+++' line.

That was a Project Danny did, it was half a 33 and I think Joey Earls painted it like the US1 boat which he painted, they used a crane to get it to the second floor at Ping's. will try to dig out the pictures now that it was mentioned.

Maybe I shouldn't ask but what happened to the company?

Depending on the year, there was a breaker behind the seat that could need looking at or the motor in the unit.
