Learning Curve never ends.
When Danny Hired me around this time a decision was made that a Sport Deck was needed in the line, anyway in those days we "winged it" No plans just build it,which is fine someplace's BUT this was Powerplay!

Day one,My Instructions were simple make it a good bit like Danny's 33 well, OK, and do it quick! boats are selling already!! a hull was rolled in and I set it up dead level,Then cut a bunch of deck beams with a 2" crown and screwed them into place and clad the half that was visible coming in the door with some cheap 1/4" AC Fir that I would change for Birch upon approval.

Ok Day 2 morning have the deck framed except for carlins (cockpit) and half the thing clad with build ups, went to the office to get the boss knowing there would be some changes.

SOME !!!! anyway Danny came in the shop "well that is close to what I want"change this and that, But what stunned me when I laid a 12' Batten on it he is standing 20 feet away and says raise it 1/16" a sixteenth!!!!! Ok we built 11 or 12 of these half deck mock ups before finally I got the Go!

I knocked the deck plug out quick waxed and sprayed it with clear then red tooling and built the mold (one man Band) Meanwhile my oldest son 3 learned to ride a bike in the parking area with the instructions; Son STAY away from the Grey Porsche !!! the other cars I can pay for if you hit them.

I'd say his meticulous eye created some of the best lines on any performance boat out there! Classic S Fl looks.:drink:

Without a doubt.

Steve, in simple terms is this the order the layup went?
1. Clean/wax mold
2. gelcoat
3. Glass/resin
4. corebond (putty)
5. core material
6. vacuum bag
7. glass/resin
Ready for stringers/bulkheads

I guess I always assumed the vacuum bagging was used on glass/resin, but it appears it is used on the coring.
Does the vacuum draw the paste material up through the core?
Thanks, Darren
