Steve, this thread is still the best on OSO, love the pics, thanks for all the effort.

As you are one of the top industry experts and really understand the physics of the hulls, could you give some insight into what type of setups the PP's like?

For example would my 28 run best w/ a bow lifting prop or stern, 3 or 4 blade, deep X or high, etc? I think you've covered some of this info for outboards, but us inboard guys would like to learn too! As their are only about 3 of these singles......I don't have too many people to ask who really know! Trial and error is out of my budget too right now.

Koss is like Peter Hledin of Skater; he builds 'em he doesn't run 'em. :party-smiley-004:

One other boat I failed to mention I saw is the 46Skater 'Category 5' whose owner lives on the Intercoastal in north Pompano. Another one I saw was the Superyacht Feadship 'Gallant Lady', owned by Toyota mogul Jim Moran.

Breaking news, Jim Moran died years ago.

Just like John Crouse.

No I test them, That is part of my Job long before the customer gets in the boat ,I guess hanging on a rope off the back at 120++ Watching the water profile and the same looking down the tunnel does not count.

The first time I saw a Cobra (Harry O) run in open sea was in 77 during the Magnum Marine Bahamas race, Real impressive!! I was running a 30 Corsa and we swapped lead a dozen times sometimes running a couple feet apart, lost a bottom and the Bacardi race was now upon us,
Got another boat together and dialed in @1:00 Race morning 4 Ambassadors dock Anyway Frog Joel Helperns driver came down and said the boss wanted to see me, the deal was Joel wanted me to run a 32 Cobra and was going to sponsor me with a hull and deck.

With that hull Always turn the props out you need NO transom lift the props, we always ran Mercury props, choppers on the outboard boats ,Offshore Cleavers on the race stuff and Mercury 3 and 4 Blades on the inboards.

The Chine was flared out in the aft on the old hull and looked funkey but it worked well.

The hull has enough bow flair to keep you out of trouble but still allowing the boat to settle in a little and fly straight off the wave crests ( had a ring side seat for a 100 miles) in short there was nothing I would change.

Steve,
What did the bare hull and deck weigh as pictured in post 1601?

Thanks again for all your time and knowledge you have shared.
Steve
