Danny did a lot of things he felt were better, like the Bagged Corecell coring in the 38's plus the time spent fairing it to flawless. cost would be @ $400,000.00 for a full optioned and custom Painted 38 Powerplay then. |

This picture was taken almost 2 years ago during the tooling of the 41 cc deck , notice the freeboard. Jassman has been instrumental in the pushing of the new 38 go fast deck. Our plans are to take the cc deck and configure it into the go fast deck. I hope Steve1 doesn't mind us posting on his thread. I respect him and his work like no other.

If I had 2 nickels to rub together I would be all over a 38. But I'm poor:lolhit: |
Powerplay 38 SS Deck reflection the way Danny worked this, The deck mold had it's own bay which is right across the way there in that open door, same with the hull mold it had its own bay . Keeping good tooling in top shape requires care and remember damage comes from abuse which did not happen here.

Doing some math 277+ 33 Powerplays 12 -28's 17- 38's and a mountain of 25 in various formats over 23 years.

Exactly!

The Navy boat had less than 60 hours on it as of last year (boat is a 2003/04) when the owner removed the 525/XR combo and re-rigged it as a 700/NXT boat. Boat taps the door on 100 mph and was still being dialed in. It has been on Lake Mead a few times and has only seen the Pacific a couple of times in its lifetime. The owner is a fanatic who has a neat collection of cars/boats all of which are stored in a museum quality warehouse. This is easily the most perfect Danny built Powerplay in existence. The boat is not for sale and being that the guy still owns the car his wife drove to high school (he located, restored and gave it to her as a present) you can probably expect it to be in his collection forever...... |
