What is the top end for a 260 legend with a 454mag mpi(385hp) Im probably geting a 454mag mpi(385hp) installed soon. What is the top end and what props are you guys running with this setup?

I'm getting 60 to 62mph pending water conditions and load in a stock setup.

I have the Mag carb motor in mine 350 hp instead of 385. I have Stainless Marine exhaust with the long risers and I have a K&N flame arrester on it and I see 62.7 on the GPS. I see 65 on the speedo. I have a 21 pitch Mirage plus reworked to a 22 at 5050 rpm. I do boat in salt, but in Lake George I hit 62.3. I tell people that it is a 60mph boat. Since I really don't get the chance to wind it out offten at all, as the wife really does not like to go fast. If you really want to change engines in your boat I would go with a 502. Better yet an HP 500. You can probably try and find a used one. Good luck with the new boat.

I can answer my own question now. I got a 454mag efi installed in my boat a couple weks ago. The best I have had to date was 62.9mph on GPS. 62.1 with a load of 3 adults and 2 kids is pretty common. I still need to get a shop tach on the boat to see what my exact rpm is running so I can get the prop dialed in. I have a 21p mirage plus on now.
