Rock Solid 26 Legend!

Well we've had the 26 out twice once in calm water and the other in 2-3' and I can't believe how solid this boat is. Cruising at 40mph in 2-3 was nothing and 55mph was pretty much the same. I couldn't be happier!! Best of all the wife was very please so look out 30' in the next couple years! Now on the down side after only 2 time out it's plain to see this hull can easily handle more power. At a top of 62mph (which I thought would be fine) seems like nothing! Has anyone made any mods to their 26 with a 454mag EFI?? Maybe upper 60's would suffice for a while?? And than again ???????????????

Hey Dock,

Hope you made out ok with your cockpit carpet. By the way I have a pair of Hydromotive Quad 4 4 blades 22p they work awsome on my 93 290 enticer, but are way to small for my 340.

Kleen, we haven't had time (or weather ) to even think about the boat, let alone do any work on it. What power were you running on that 290? I was wondering how the boat might react to 4 blades. I'm much more concerned with a decent holeshot and cruise speed than I am with top end; I was thinking that 4 blades might help in that area.

Hi Dock,
I was running a pair of 454 mags 365hp (350 at the prop). The hydromotives gave a much better hole shot, better midrange speed and because of the larger diameter your able to trim out higher. Although you might lose about 1 1/2 miles an hour on top end, they are great rough water props.

I agree I run 26 pitch 4 blade bravos and I did loose 1 to 2 miles of top speed but the performance and ride the boat gives with the 4 blades is worth the 1 to 2 miles off the top end.

Thanks - if we ever get time to run the damn boat, I might consider the 4 blades. We will almost never run it flat out; I'm much more interested in the acceleration and holeshot (planing).

4 blade is the only way to go.
