Post 280 Silencer Chime Walk

At 73-74 MPH my 280 Silencer 2000 starts to chime walk from left to right.....At that point I have to shut it down.....I'm thinking about a charger but I'm concerened the boat will be unsafe if I go faster.

are you running a stock 502? or???

are you reading speedo speeds or GPS?

My stock 280 with 502 (stock) sees a maximum of 65 mph and I have just a touch of side to side walk which I settle by pressing the tabs down just to the level position and it runs just smooth.

K-planes, sure they would be nice but as a rule are not required on the 280 since most of the speeds are under the 70 mph mark.

My 280 never had this happen. Step hulls will have a very slight bit of side to side. They call it tick-tock. But always felt 100% in control. No tabs were needed. You may be triming it too high?!?!? Mine ran best the the trim needle JUST above the first mark on the gauge.
