Default 26 Legend Chine Walking

Well I changed my original Mirage Plus 23p with a Mirage Plus 21p today to do some testing. I'm running a 454 mag EFI with a bravo 1 drive. I must say it really brought the boat to life! Just me and nearly everything taken out of the boat to ready for storage. Plane time was fantastic! Cruise speed at 4,000 rpm showed 46 mph on GPS. Top speed was another story. Due to lake condition I never could keep the boat running long enough to see the top. I did see 58mph at 4900 rpm on the gps and still climbing. However I had to drop the tabs down due to she began to chine walk a bit. I never had the boat do that with the 23p Mirage Plus. Just wondering if anyone else with a 26 has experienced that?? Now keep in mind I've never run the boat so light before either. I'm thinking maybe adding longer tabs?

My 26 Chine walks real bad at WOT, fully trimmed out. I am running a 23p Mirage Plus, stock 502 MPI. It can be quite a handful at times, but does add a little excitement. I just pay real close attention to the lake conditions when I want to reach top speed and RPM's.

I'm guessing it's due to the rockers on the botton of the hull. I just e-mailed martini on a larger set of tabs to see if maybe that would settle it down.

What are you seeing top end?? GPS or speedo?

Thanks Brian

At what speed does the boat seem to loosen up? Have you tried a bravo 4 blade?

I have not tried a 4 blade Bravo because I sacrifice the stability for a couple more MPH. I'm sure it would be more stable with the Bravo, but I am staying with the Mirage Plus. I did try a Mirage Plus 25P and thought about having it labbed, but I could only turn 4200 RPM with a stock 25, and lost so much top end. I don't think i would gain that much back by having it labbed. Seems like 23P stock Mirage plus was the best prop for top end for my stock 502MPI.

I just boxed my Mirage Plus 23p up to send out to Throttle Up to have it re-worked to a 22p. I'll have to wait till spring to report the results. I also just received my 16" tabs from Insta Trim today. I'm a little surprised you couldn't spin the 25p.
