2005 model year 288's were the first to incorporate a true step. The new hull design also included a longer delta pad. I want to say it also added a notch at the transom but cannot remember for sure. MP has driven both a 28 PQ and a 288 Sunsation.

I was in Holland today and stopped by the factory around 11:30 am. The office was closed and there were no car tracks in the snow in the parking lot. The front door had a 1 foot snow drift in front and nothing had been shoveled recently. The factory was closed and no action. Sure hope they are up and running again soon.

This is prime season to be building up stocks for the dealers at the boat shows. If they do reopen I hope the dealers have some boats to take to the shows, or this years production may be a bit off.

As far as them being at the GR show I would bet its pretty slim unless they reserved a spot long ago. I would think that's a pretty important show for a local company. And Mental your right! Got to have some stock to take along to the shows. I'm getting a little concerned at this point.

Knot 4 Me and I were discussing this last nite - while we visited with the Captain. PQ, at least in our opinions, has been been more well known in the midwest. I know Sunsation is selling far more boats in other area now, particularly the south. 5 year plus ago I think Sun's main market was the same area as PQ, mainly this area of the midwest.

Makes me wonder if PQ needs to get their brand a bit more recognized through a broader range of the country. They make a great value boat. Good quality, nice appointments and competitively priced.

Hope they make a move soon, the longer this is a question in peoples mind the longer it will take to recover.

Good point. With the auto industry is such bad shape, there's a lot of folks that had to get out of the sport in our area. If they were more recognized across the states ,they would be less susceptible to regional economic trends.

Hi, this may be old news...but not to me.

I am told by an employee at Sunsation that PQ sold their 43 mold to them.

I know at one point Kevin's strategy in creating the 43 was to first increase demand for the 38 (so it wouldn't suffer when the 43 was introduced) and moving the 29 to a 30 and eliminating the 34.

I was not aware they had a 43? And I was at the plant twice last year.
