Re: Powerquest Factory
[QUOTE=Silverado;2019620]powerquest 380 - when PQ opens back up, you should really take a look at the 320 SC. That boat has a ton of room for a 32 footer and I beleive it runs mid 60's with 496's. It's a great boat for the money.
.[/QUOT I would like to see PQ build a cruiser like the 400ss Formula, Thats what I'm looking toward. Rich. |
Re: Powerquest Factory
Good to hear on the pics. I was just over to the storage building and went to take some pics of the cabin. I had to wade through 2' of snow to get to the front door and I went over from the office so I still had my dress cloths on. And of course forgot to take in the camera in with me. Well I didn't feel like making an extra trip through the snow so I'll wait till I go back to install the new grills. Boy are they going to look sweet!!

Re: Powerquest Factory
Hey John my wife picked out your 38 PQ. All my friends are jealous because they are in cruisers. I offered her the cruiser option but she said boring. Am I lucky or what. The Black Thunder is very nice and the people from the factory are also. Good luck with the pants perhaps new swim trunks instead.

Great Lakes Outfitters in Holland
Hey - any of you guys in Holland know what happened to Bonnie at Great Lakes Outfitters - she did PQs covers and has all of the patterns? She did a full cover for my boat and I need a new one. Her phone number has been re-assigned.
Thanks. Jeff |
Call Ed at Great lakes Marina in Muskegon for her number, When you have him on the phone ask him about a guy named John who did custom cover's on my 38 last winter he keeps a old Chris Craft there. He did them cheeper and made both covers out of Sunbrella. Bonnie could not touch his price and his work was 1st rate.

Web Site
I contacted the factory through the website and received a reply email overnight. WaHoo!
Things are certainly headed in the right direction for PowerQuest :D |
are they building new boats yet???
|
I think they are waiting for lower fuel prices and higher water levels - or perhaps the 2 year anniversary of the plant closing????????????????????:D
. |
That will be a long wait! I am a PQ fan, but it is time for them to step up, even if that means they won't release a boat for another 12 months!!!!!!
Tell it like it is - the supporters will stick with them! |
They (the factory) really don't care what we think....they will what they want to do. You can see that by their actions up until now
|
Well it's Sept now and going on Oct, still no word on anything just a little blurb about the new PQ in Powerboat Mag. Any one have any updates>?
|
Spoke to Bob today and last week. All is going along just fine. I need something for my boat and they are fixing me up. Great to work and easy to take care you....just like the days of old
|
would be nice to see a picture of activity inside the place, or a boat for that matter... I trust my eyes!

Wouldn't you think they would come on OSO and say SOMETHING? PR must not be their thing... There are 7-8 cars there everyday in the morning. I saw a deck out of the mold in lamination the other day as I drove by (could have a leftover from when Jack Moll closed the place). |

Iam sure they will come around when they need to sell some boats:rolleyes: |

Not sure I would agree with that. The PR from the last crew is why I bought another PQ (as well as quality). I've talked with a few folks at the plant on the phone and all were very pleasant as well. But a little splash here and there would go a long way!

PQ...is still as great as ever. Just a while longer for the new boat to out.
Spoke to Bob on Monday. I had a guy that wanted to purchase my boat and asked if I still had the windscreen that was on the boat when it was build in early '03. I told him to call PQ and ask...that's all you can do. (I had the factory swap out the screen for a windshield). So the guy asked me if I would do it. Bob (At the factory) is the only one left form the old PQ and remembered me and the boat. And ironically they still had the custom painted windscreen there. So I told the guy that was interested in the boat..I told I would buy it and have it shipped to him if he bought the boat. He said he would get back to me...which he did, BUT he bailed |
I am still waiting on an e-mail back from Bob. I am looking at a couple of 38s with air but no genny and they are in Michigan so I am trying to find out how much they would chrage me to put a genny in the boat.
So if any of you out there have a stepped, blue motor, mcleod interior with genny and AC l for sale let me know I am looking :D |
When I looked into adding a genny...PQ wanted 14k and then I checked at my marina and they wanted 9k for the same setup...different genny
|
I wonder if they have the 270 laser dash wiring diagrams, how do I get a hold of them? Also need other parts.
>Moving froward, anyone know if they will appearing at the Miami boat show in 08? |

I've put a couple gererators in 38s before, I used to work for powerquest and had a part in the designing and building the 38s and 34s. If still interested in getting a quote you can call me at (616)748-9235. Im about 5 miles away from the factory and deal with them on a regular basis.
Thanks, Dave I worked with Dave at Advantage Marine back in the Spring of 2001 to add trim tabs, silent choice, new exhaust tips, throttle trim adjustment option and new Gaffig gauges on my 270 Laser. They did an awesome job and made everything look like it came from the factory that way. They have a nice clean safe shop and were fairly priced. Chris |

Its been awhile since anyone reported, any news at the new PQ factory?
|
It's been a while. I wonder if they will actually "MAKE IT"???
Hope so. They make (made) a nice product. |
Well I talked with Bob about a week ago regarding them doing some upholstery work for me. He sent me some samples to match colors so as soon as I can get to the boat , I'll be pulling the back seat and sun pad off to take up to the factory. Than I'll have some news to report.
By the the way if I'm not mistaken the sun pad is screwed from the back side of the fiberglass hatch? Which if I'm right means I don't have to remove the entire deck lid??? Can anyone confirm that?? I'm trying to figure out how much time its going to take to remove these items. If I have to take the entire lid off I'll need to have some help. |
On my 290 it was screwed from the bottom with 16 or 20 screws and finish washers, and came off in one piece, and left the raw galss / wood base still hinged to the boat. The deck will need ot be about 100 degrees up so you can get in witha screwdriver for the back screws, so have a friend or rig a support for the deck while it is vertical
|
Bingo!!! That's what I wanted to hear!
Thanks |
Still no 2008 or 2009 PQ's listed anywhere that I can find. Guess they are making resin-infused bath tubs?! :p
|
I'm bored today, I'll go check out the PQ plant. I only live 1 mile from the place! :cool-smiley-027: Get back with y'all later tonight.
|
Please do, be good to get a first hand update!!
