Default 26 Legend Prop Testing info

Well we finally got a nice day on of the big pond to do some prop testing and I thought I'd share some results.

454Mag EFI
Location: Lake Michigan
Water condition: Less than 1'
Water temp : 71deg
Air temp: 88 deg

23p Mirage plus 3 blade:
3000 RPM....35mph.....tab 0
4000 RPM....50mph....tab 2
4550 RPM....57.5mph....tab 2

Over 50 trimmed in flat water the boat did have some chine walk. Nothing major but became a drivers boat at that point.

23p Hydromotive Q1V plus 4 blade:

3000 RPM......34mph.......tabs2
4000 RPM......50mph...... tabs2
4600 RPM......60mph.......tabs2

Over 50 with the Hydro was all in all a nice stable in controlled ride with nearly no chine walk. With the 4 blade it seemed to like more trim as well as tabs. Unlike the Mirage Plus, dropping the tabs generally yield a 2-3 mph flow down. The Hydro 4 blade yielded an increase in speed.

My guess is in a 1-2' chop I should see about another 2-3 mph.

I've also got a 21p Mirage Plus but ran out of daylight to test in the same water condition. However I know based on last year I obtained 59mph at 4900 RPM.

Thus all around the Hydro was the best pick allowing me a higher top end number while running at a lower RPM.

FYI. I did run a Bravo 1 22p 4 blade last year which the boat did not like at all. To much bow lift and seemed to only make the chine walking worse at speed.

So if anyone's interested I have a nearly brand new Mirage Plus 23p I'm going to sell. It does have Baja etched into the hub.......... I know what you PQ owners are thinking , no smack talk.

You have a 454MAG, correct? If so, why do you only want to turn 4,600RPM?

You are correct.

I'm sure the boat won't spin anything larger than a 23, however according to Hydromotive if I have a lab finished done I should see another 200 rpm and see another 2-3 mph.

Looking at where I came from I'm very happy top only spin 4600 and obtain a higher top end number.

Top end was not so important as all around handling. Which I really got better results all around!. Can I squeeze out more top end?? I think theres a little more to be had . Question is do I want to spend a little more money to obtain when I only run wide open 1-2 times a year. And thats just for a short run.
