Lol !!!! I hear you on that itch!!!

hey guys Brett has some deals going on now, if you feel more slip then he could put more cup in the blades that should bite better, I went from 7'' or 7 1/2'' to 5 to 5 1/2'' with a shortie and have big k planes on the 24ol which has a small pad. I picked up better top end and think mid was just as good plus better flying in the rough water more level. but it was only 5 to 10hours of time and then a lot of stuff was stolen that winter. now with the 28 saber that did better to going from 7 1/2 to 5 1/2 jon was going up another 3'' before I bought the boat. and I am starting at 3'' with a box and the konrad ace set up I have a 5 blade px30 and 32 b 1 both labbed but might need more work. just waiting and waiting for the motor was told end of the month:party-smiley-004: just like the last 2:eek:. but we need the motor to see if the drive height will work plus wear to put a scoop or all new hatch and if gas tank needs to be moved. I am going to loose my sponsor cause by the time I get the boat dialed in it could take until june july so thats a few races and pokerruns. I almost feel like selling everything and buying a Sport fisher theres deals on some nice 1975 to19 80 sf boats wife would love me long time. well getting back to you too if you want a spacer start with 1/2'', I think your prop needs a tune up by brett. cause a lot of stepped hulled vees like the shorter drive height. a y2k SB picked up from 89 to 96 by going from 3 1/2'' to 3'' and they felt 2 1/2'' would be it. which they will set there next boat up at that was a konrad ace with a box too. I just can't wait to post in the saber section on putting this thing together I am shooting for 100 plus if we get the 1050 to 1100hp on pump gas. if not always 116 gas for a weekend then tune it down so it lasts 200hours well today we took the covers off the saber and 46 skater played in the parking lot I made blower sounds for gerry with the up and down idle it was 60 degrees we are putting a windshield on that 46 so the f16s will be for sale hey later guys.

Air Time do you sleep at al...lol!!!
I appreciate the info on the drive heights and stuff.....I've never played with it so I need all the input I can get my hands on and man I appreciate the help and input!! I am in the process of ordering CMI Sport Ube headers...that will be done hopefully in the next day or two...I gotta get my ass under the hatch and take some measurements so I can get them ordered...... These headers should give me I'm hoping 40 hp more and that will bump me up to 575 hp...and I'm sure more rpm. Brett at BBlade put max cup on my labbed Bravo 1...so I will definately get him to tweek the new blade... I wonder if theres 3-5 mph if I put a 2" shorty on the back...man that would be cool. Hey i appreciate all the input you've given me....thanks!! |

Hey i appreciate all the input you've given me....thanks!! hey good luck been busy catch you guys later hope to start my saber project next 2 weeks can't wait for the motor any longer so we going to hang the box drive konrad ace on and when and if the motor is done:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: in 2 weeks we will install it order tails for the headers do the plumbing and elec that the builder is to busy for so we can test it in may and make adjustments if needed on drive height mine is 17 1/2'' and prop shaft height of 3'' with a box and 30 px5 prop to start and a b1 32. hope its just right heard the b1 34 props need a lot of work. good luck and look for our post to start at the Saber thread. |
i think your wasting your time on the shorty, i dont know how my 280 picked up couple mph with a 1" spacer and yours would pick up 3-5 mph with a 2" shorty, doesnt make sense, i doubt PQ made the X dimension that off on different boats.

Did your blow out when getting on plane stop after the spacer? Do you remember if you picked up any mph at cruising speeds? |

no my drive is about 5 1/2" with the spacer, I didnt have the drive perfectly level when I measured though.
anyway looks like the boat is sold, hopefully be gone by the weekend, gonna miss it but looking forward to the next one after a brief (hopefully) hiatus. |
and I probably have one of the fastest 280's with a basically stock 502, I have had the boat up to 69.5 but lately it runs around 68 gps. i think from the factory it was a 65-66 mph boat correct?

Where did you have it listed? Hate to see you sell it but nice to see some people are still buying boats. What are you gonna buy next? |
