Here's my 380 Avenger. 600 SC's. Stays on the trailer till she's ready to play! Mostly boat on Lake St. Clair. Usually hit the west side of the state atleast once a summer though. Going to Grand Haven in July, planning on running with the SOTW people. Just had the entire boat wet sanded, rubbed and sealed. She looks like new again. She was starting to show her age. Though about updating the graphics next winter to something newer. Anybody planning on getting together on Lake St. Clair with their PQ's???? I'm game...

Dave98, Sweet ride!!! I ran with a 30 for a very short period Monday afternoon in St. Joseph Mich which had the same graphics other than the base color was red. It was absolutely beautiful! Even more so when he blew by by me in 2-3' chop. What a ride!! Not sure if he monitors this site or not. If so you need to post a picture for all to see.

Re: PQ Owners Check-in
Still own a 1989 230 conquest, but back then these boats were still called Powerplay ,till legal stuff made them change their name,( there were two companies with same name) to what is now known as Powerquest. Boat is still rock solid, and sits damn pretty in the water. Has more interior room than many larger newer boats, in the 26 foot range. She is a true 23' and does not include the platform like todays boats., Boat was built right. And if you look at it, you can still see similarities to her newer sisters being built now. Would love to go bigger , or newer, but, so far she has not given me reason to abandon her.( I just re-powered) And if and when it does happen, it will be another Powerquest ,if I can find one around my parts of the world. Sorry no pic, but I will get one. Just hope that if you ever see me coming, you know that we are truly family, though she says Powerplay on the side. :drink:

OK, right now I have two PQ's. For sale is my 1999 Viper, fitted with HP 500's ( 60 hrs) and it does 77 GPS.
I just bought a 2001 38' Avenger with 575sci's that runs somewhere in the 85-88 range. We run in Minnesota, on the St Croix and Miss. Rivers. Plan on doing Oskosh Thunder and the Bud Shoot out this year. I tow with an Excursion 6.0 Diesel. Lots of power . Any PQ folks doing the Oskosh Thunder?? |

That is a great looking ride :D . Have you decided to loose the scoops? if so that cover wont fit either so just let me know :D I'm the man to take them off your hand :evilb: Seriously I cant wait to see it down at the shootout it will be a great time. Again congrats. P.S. you sould consider running the race with those numbers you will do very well. |
Re: PQ Owners Check-in
PWRQUEST
Thanks. The speed is partially due to the fact the prior owner installed Super Chillers. The Chillers also raise the profile of the motors 4" thus the scoops. Given I want my sun pad back the chillers have to go so I can remove the scoops. Bad part is I will loose some of that speed but should still be able to turn 82-85. With the chillers out the top of the motors will just meet the bottom of the hatch. The holes in the underside of tha hatch will also provide a little extra space. I will be getting a new sun pad from PQ so it will once again be factory stock. Plan on having all the work done by July 4th. Say I have a drive oil question. Anyone ever had drive oil push its way out of the top of the reservoir. I don't mean a little bit but the whole bottle. Happened to me the other day , no leaks anywhere, the drive was full and fine but all the fluid somehow got tossed from the reservoir. Kind of like a radiator overflow tank. ???????????????????? |
Re: PQ Owners Check-in
BillR just had the same thing happen to one of his motors. Turned out the drive oil was leaking into the bellows via a bad pinion seal (I think). You will have to pull the drive to repair it. He also checked the drive gears while it was off and discovered some bad pitting in the upper gears. Had to replace it.
Don't run it again until the leak is repaired. |

Are you also going to be getting rid of the chillers? I need to find out if they will work with a carb set up I might just help a brother out and take them off your hands also :D P.M. me with price and info if you want to sell them. I could just trade you the whole engine cover since mine is set up for the shorter set up, and we would just have to buy new vinyl  |

Hay Raizor, welcome to the family. You are going to really get into your PQ and you are right about the Baja's. Nothing but a chopped Bayliner with loud motors.

Julio, Beautiful Silencer! Did PQ go the graphics?
Red Stripe. Any pics of the conquest? We had one for 3 years before we bought our 26 this year. Great boat! Loved the large cockpit! |

With 2 kids, its the area that gets the most use but still has a usable cuddy if we wanted to get out of the sun. I've wanted one for about 7 years now and I finally found one I could afford :D |
Re: PQ Owners Check-in
As much as I like the 26 there's several things we miss about the Conquest.

Hey Drippenwett, Great looking boat. I like the engine bay.
I have a 300 Revenge also. What a great boat. Ours has the fairing instead of the windshield. It is a little tough on the eyes at speed but it looks good. We have hit 80 once but can maintain 79 pretty consistantly. You mentioned 90 at this time. Plans for the boat this winter? Here is a pic of mine: |
