My weekends are flling up so hopefully we can set a date for the PQ run. My boat is currently in Holland getting some work done.
Hopefully I'll have it by the end of next week. Getting a little anxious now that the weather in Michigan is starting to come around. Not sure how to post a photo. I have the Neptune Graphics (Black,Red,Silver). Looking to step up to the 34 Vyper in the near future. Need more power and a bigger cabin. I'm already growing out of my current PQ.

Jeez, HRPA had one PQ last summer (BillR's 280) now we have 4......and 3 of those are 340's that sit side by side in the Marina Shores boatel. Mine is #2 of 3 right in the middle rack between Vyper340 and BillR. Pretty cool I must say! I posted a pic on the General board a while back from work, but sadly discover I have none on my home computer. Oh well

Happy to be a PQ owner!!

Scheuer10,

Your boat looks great the graphics are just right for that size boat. Like the fairing!

Avengerangel 04-13-2002 03:03 PM

2001 380 Avenger w/ 496 Mag HO's. We keep ours on the trailer in the driveway. I enjoy coming home after a sh@!%y day at work and seeing our boat. Instant pick me up. We boat mostly in the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac and Patuxent rivers. We trailer to Florida at least 3-4 times a year. We suffer from "Keys Disease". Also do long weekend trips to Ocean City or Virginia Beach. We love our PQ!!!!

AA

P.S. Would love to be part of a PQ get together:cool:

Scott 04-13-2002 03:19 PM

Avengerangel,

What kind of speeds are you getting with the 496 package?

h2owarrior 04-13-2002 03:33 PM

Avangerangel, I got a couple questions for you.

1) Your job can't really be that bad can it ? I mean, it gives you enough money to have one awesome boat. Right?

2) What do you tow this bad boy with ?

We just sold our second PQ, a 1994 290. The new owner just loves the boat. Our first boat was a 270. Both great boats.

When PQ splashed our boat (early Dec) they called my husband all excited and said they got it to 79. The most we have gotten is 76 (GPS) in 6 footers off the Fla Keys with 2 people, fuel ect. Up here in Maryland the best is 73 (GPS). We went ahead and bought the 5 yr warranty so any mods will have to wait until the bugs are worked out. There have been a couple of recalls ect on the 496's. We are happy..... for now. :D He he

H2O
My husband has a Dodge 3500 Cummins diesel dually that is bright red in color. He just bought me an Excursion PSD and its white with ugly brownish/bronze trim. Soon to be all white. With 2 kids its alot more comfy in the Excursion. We havent towed with the Excursion yet but I do have one of those little props in the tow hitch. And yes my job is usually very enjoyable ( I run the office for one of husbands companies) but this is an example of a recent bad day..... one of our guys is towing a backhoe on a flatbead trailer. The chain securing the load snaps going around a turn and the boom and bucket swing out and total 7 parked cars. Now wouldnt you call that a very bad day? Luckily those kinds of days are few and far between. We are extremely blessed. :)

AA

h2owarrior 04-13-2002 10:54 PM

Avengerangel, yea I agree, that qualifies as a bad day.

Sorry the picture is not that clear. I took the pics in a high resolution and in order to shrink them down to fit, they get a little blurry.

Toptrim,

Where did you buy your boat?

Hope Springs Boat Sales, Stafford, VA?

It looks real familiar.

Are you a member Of Chesapeake Bay Power Boat Assoc? Last year there were 3 of us PQ's on one poker run. How far north up the Bay do you guys boat? We usually put in at North Beach or Solomons (Calvert County) and go to Baltimore, Mears Great Oak/Jellyfish Joels, Annapolis, Kent Narrows, St Micheals and on and on..!:D Check out the club at www.cbpba.com. When the season revs up mayby we will see out there. Could you believe this weather today!!!! We might even be out this weekend! :D

BillR 04-17-2002 11:43 AM

Toptrim,

I thought so.

I bought my 2000 280 from DAve at Hope Springs.
I saw your boat in Jan 2000 right when it was cold as hell. I was so impressed with that boat, I ordered mine. Took your boat on a test ride in late Feb 2000.

I tried to buy my 340 from Dave, but his price was 15K too high. But their service is great.

Just cking in

My newest boat 2002 Avenger, HP 500 EFI's and new ITS drives with no 30 lab finished props. The boat ran 83 GPS on the Ohio river when I went to pick it up in early December.

The installation of new Whipple superchargers is about to be completed by Bruce in St Louis, along with nose cones.

We will be testing 32-34 4 blades, and the new 5 blade 31?

Will keep members posted of new speed

Steve

Raypanic 04-21-2002 09:03 AM

sejman

Which whipples did you go with? Give us (me) more details and some picts if you have some. Are you running 1.5 drives or 1.35? Are you having the engines dynoed?..........ect

sejman 04-21-2002 11:08 AM

Raypanic

The Whipples are the new style top mount. I beleave Bruce is going to remove and Dyno 1 motor.

My drives are 1.5. Bruce thinks the new 5 blade props will eliminate slippage, and perform better.

We are hopeing for. 95 GPS.

I will post photos and results soon.

Sounds like it will be one sweet ride! I really like the new whipple blowers for the HP 500 I think they look awesome! Have you priced or got a idea on the pitch size Hydromotive P5 yet? I am running 1.34 and I think I will call them tomorrow

I assume you may have seen this picture but it is worth a second look.

Hey Scott see what he will have and you dont? Now is the time!!!

Been useing it for about 2 months now down here in sunny florida for this year. It was 91 here today, with little humidity. GREAT day on the water. The only thing i need to work on is getting a little more out of the boat in the speed department(dosent everybody?) I am only turning 4500RPM so i think a prop change is on order soon.. The best i can get out of it is roughly 56.(60 if you look on the speedo, but GPS doesnt lie) BUT i did beat a fountain today, so i was happy :D :D

Vyper340 04-22-2002 11:46 AM

Raypanic:

Looks AWESOME!!! So how fast does she go now?

hp500efi 04-22-2002 12:17 PM

Ray,

did you modify the stock air inlets into your engine compartment? I know that PQ was having problems with the standard rear entry inlets on the hp motors thus the new side design. The new side design allows forced air inlet at a greater capacity.

Those motors are gonna suck alot of air and the more air you can get in there the better especially on those hot summer days.

Scott 04-22-2002 07:47 PM

Hey Ray

You going to tell them or should I :p

Sorry to confuse everyone, the picture above is the new style whipples that replace the intake for the HP500 and they are blue, Mine are the Black type that bolt on the existing manifold for the 502 MPI. (see picture) There was an older type that was similar to my black ones that were bolt on for the HP500EFI but they were blue too. The NEW ones like sejman are getting are like 750HP Mine have been dynoed @ 690HP

Viper340:

How fast does she go now? 0 Mph so far. This has been a project boat from the day I bought it (didn't plan it that way) The "Maden voyage" I had it up to 75MPH but it was not even really working hard (4000 rpm). This was all on the Old B&M 420 Mega blowers and carbs that I had all this switched out last fall and never have run it yet. I am still waiting on my "replacement" drive to come back in. I bought two new IMCO Extreme SC drives one I felt had a problem and when it comes in then I should be good to go.

HP500EFI:

I wondered about the airflow for a little two but after inspecting the boat I found that on each side of the rear bench seat under the gunnels are a large opening that suck air from the cockpit areas the size must be at least 1' x 2' I heard about the new air intakes on the newer 340'380s but at this time I am not worried. I should call the factory and see if they made a change to the bulkhead where the rear bench is positioned. worse come to worse I have had my eye on a couple of scoops anyhow (Wife wont like them)
