38 with 525's
 

Anyone have a 38 Avenger with 525 efi's in it? If so what is your top speed......

Alot faster than one with 500s

Read a test of one with 575's and if I can remember right they got 86 out of it... low 82-84 sounds about right I would say depending on prop

The 38's couldn't handle the 525's so mercury couldn't authorize pq to put them in. The 525's are way to much power for you to handle they would only get you to the island faster which would mean even less running time for you.

Could the Red Unit have one of your blue motors to use for his generator????:evilb:

The 38 PQ I've been in with 525SC's ran 78 - 79 MPH when I GPS'd it. Ran 76 - 77 MPH in the Shootout back in 2005.

Hell, that's cocktail speed for me.

I believe the owner said it has broke 80, but it did not do it when I was around. I believe he finally got it propped right and with the right water/air conditions and a light load, I have no doubt it ran 80 +.

On my own. Send my boat back to the factory in 2000. Had the bottom blueprinted and 4' of the outside strakes remove. I probably got the faster 38 with 500efi's in it then most people would think. It is a strong 80mph boat with throttle left in it. I have a top speed on the gps tale-tail speedometer of 82mph. Anyone want to run me I will prove it. I have two strong blue motors that aren't afraid of running. Only thing in them is the mystery oil.

Ya if he wants to go over 80MPH Tom or I will take him for a ride!:kiss:

What do you get out of the Revenge? And running what props? Id imagine labbed 28's or so?

I seen the tell tale speedo it was 80. And as far as clubs go your always in but choose not to be.

It is going to be cold on sunday for the river shiver........Your boats should be running good.....No excuses.....like the water was to choppy......U ladies know who you are......

I was at the factory when they were repairing/grinding off the last portion of the inner strakes.big improvement but not what a 2002 hull is.

as far as running your fast /faster 380 on the planet,
who knows one day you may have to stand behind your words and prove it to us ,and if it is great,it is what it is.

I heard Donzi has a true 38 but I am not sure. It is like putting a top on your pick up bed. If you have a short bed but find a good deal on a top for a long bed you just have a little hanging over the back!!!:evilb:
