No it won't be if you drive the boat correctly, I have had no issues with them and have ran them for 4 years. But I do not "floor It" coming out of the whole or coming on plane I use them nice and gentle and take care of them. Whats the difference anyway, you blow out the 4 blades and rev it to high, or actually get the boat out of the water evenly.
There have been a few guys on here that have gone to 5 blades as well.
So if people are running 3 blades on straight hulls (cigs, Baja's) would they not go to 4 blades because of the possable wear? You run what works best on the boat.
Do what you like but I say give them a try, you may be shocked. I do not have a 34, mine is a 38 and I have noticed a HUGE difference.

I'd have no issues in trying 5 blades but I would have issues breaking drives though...lol

It's an Eagle trailer, built for the boat. Surge brakes, which I hate, but they work well, I just keep them adjusted.
