I owned 4 Powerquest boats ,so its fair to say that I like them.

I dont want to sound negative and I hope the guy gets asking price and even more, but in todays economy/market for 130k your options open up alot.

That 70k 380 in the classified has been on the market for 3-4 years now.

Just saying.

Im sorry but,
before I start any negotiating I like to know the price.

I had a really good idea of where the price would be at....tracking the boat the last listing that I found was at 169K so I knew it wouldnt be listed for more....and I had a set price that I am comfortable with and where I wouldnt budge from...

Boatnt, let me rephrase that, I knew what the boat was listed at and was waiting for a revised price...

I think the colour combo/ graphics, condition and salt or fresh water use may play a part of the time frame that the boat has been listed. I dont think it is mint looking at some pictures.

you also have to understand its a 2001,so it will not be mint, its 10 years old.

all I am saying is this,
they have not been selling for high dollars for a long time.

The one that Wally posted a picture of was been for sale for a long long time looked at it 3 years ago and the asking price was 100k,but its mint but still not selling,I was going to offer him 75 to 80k 2 days ago but he is still stuck on 100k,Oh well

I think sometimes I speak in circles rather than just stating what is the obvious, sorry about that.
It is further along than me just showing interest in the boat.....I have made an offer and it is in the owners court right now.
The owner has to take some time to digest what the market is dictating the boat is worth.
Will they accept the offer...dont know, but in my mind it is an honest and fair one.

Do you think the boat is worth 130 and/ or the owner just wont sell at that low of a price?

This one, very nice boat and well equipped with electronics ,but what is 8-9 year old electronic worth anyways?

I thought 80k was a fair offer but the owner is stuck at 100k,for the last 3-4 years.
I just dont see it,I could be wrong who knows.

AJ POWERPLAY 12-01-2010 01:05 PM

I would definitely say 80k is a fair price for that boat... especially with the wing just due to the fact that it will limit the potential buyers bc most nowadays don't care for the wing. Then you could sell the 300 for 55k :drink::drink::drink::eek:

I offered 52,000 for the 300 keep in mind the market, just because it shines don't make it worth extra.:drink:

That statement is not always true. Mine for one is a 2001 and people today still ask if it is new. Just depends on how well it is taken care of.

I agree with you 100%
I keep my boat in great condition as well, some might even say Im obsessed with it.
I have looked at plenty used boats even new boats and I think we are the minority,so I never expect to buy a used boat in mint condition.

Powerful Addiction 12-01-2010 08:26 PM

All,

I still own the boat and it is listed at Quest water sports. The boat is in perfect condition and is sitting on a custom Vanguard trailer. The boat has been cared for like a new born baby and has had all maintenance and care done by the book. It has always been stored inside in heat. I have spared no expense when it needed tender love and care. The only reason that I am selling is that I want to move to a cruiser.

Thanks,

Tim

Hi Tim,

I was wondering if you were out there lurking.
Do you have any pictures of the boat with the bimini and enclosure set up, thats the only thing missing to look at.
The description of the boat sounds to be in as new condition.
Thanks,
Mike

+1 as well, mine is an '03 and looks like it is new as well, would be hard to find any flaws or nicks.

Powerful Addiction 12-01-2010 08:58 PM

Mike,

Linda asked me the same question today. Unfortunately I do not. We have had it up maybe a 1/2 dozen times, but I have never taken a picture with it up. It was made custom for the boat by a local canvas guy. I had it made so it will cover the entire cockpit from the windshield to behind the rear seat and you can stand up from the front to the back I have the eisenglas for the front and the sides, but on the sides you can zip the glass out and have just screens. The top folds away and fits into the engine compartment. The top is black with red finished edges ( Piping I believe it is called ).

Tim,

Thats kinda the description I got today.
I didnt know what eisenglas was, clueless on that one.
Basically your traditional metal framed bimini top with front, side and aft curtain with the luxury of screens for ventilation...got it !! lol
And I understand the piping edge now, you are correct.

The bigest problem with the "value" of boats right now is that the market is flooded with beat up junk. Sure they are cheap, but by the time you go and have custom canvas, freshen up motors, little touch ups here and there just to make it sort of nice, you are buried in it. Look what it costs just to make our stuff a couple miles an hour faster. Thats nothing compared to what it costs to have to "go thru" a boat just to make it seaworthy.
I am not saying things are great and a nice used boat should be sold at a new price, but it is usually worth stepping up a bit as far as cost of boat that is truley nice and is well equipped.
No matter how you look at it...A boat is a stupid investment...LOL
I am with a handfull of the rest of you and looking to get into a bigger boat. Just not quite sure what I would settle for mine and be willing to pay for another yet.

I couldn't agree with you more!
When I bought my Silencer it had a stock 496 HO that quickly became a little on the boring side so 15K later to go 9 mph faster, then this year alone was a bimini with full camper enclosure at a cost of 4K, then I just had to have the header bling factor and put polished CMI's at 3K, it just seems to never end.....
The shape of my boat is in as new mint condition as one will find so there was no cost in having fiberglass or paint work done thankfully.
Having a boat with all the proper hardware and power in it that is in mint shape is worth something no doubt.

Tim you are killing me. A CRUISER? :eek:LMAO no just kidding man, it seems to be the next step from a 380 PQ. The guy that had mine went to a 45 Carver.

Have not seen you in a few years hope all is well. Good luck with the sell and I hope to run into you again one day.

By the way what are you looking at? A 400 SS Formula by chance, something with a little speed? Good luck with whatever it is.

Rich.
