2005 38' Avenger Poker Run Edition with 525's.

I wouldn't mind having this as my ride!

PWRQWST 11-28-2010 06:05 PM

It is, he bought it new here in Illinois back in 2005. I have not talked to him for awhile but he had enjoyed it I know.

verbi69 11-28-2010 06:52 PM

It looks like it would be an easy boat to enjoy!!

I believe it is up for sale.

It's been for sale for over a year now if remember correctly, just another great looking boat I look at and I'll never own.

No ,I think its the original ad from when Riverview Marine had it.
That ad is over 5 years old.

verbi69 11-29-2010 08:19 AM

Searching around it comes up with Quest Watersports in Il.

Maybe this is an old add as well??

Knot 4 Me 11-29-2010 08:41 AM

That is Tim's (Powerful Adiction) boat. He's from Wenona, IL. I've seen the boat several times on both the Illinois River and at LOTO. Very clean, well taken care of boat. Tim is a great guy.

Baja_man 11-29-2010 12:47 PM

One is available here....seems a bit beat up an expensive but thought I would pass it along.

Does Tim still own Powerfull Addiction and is it possible it is up for sale??

Powerful Addiction is his name on here OSO. I think it is for sale, or at least it was at one time. You can send him a private message on here but not sure how often he gets on these days

Thanks, I just found out it definately is still for sale.
My hunny was just telling me there was a message on the answering machine from Quest Marine, they were not open today but the office lady (Wanda) was kind enough to call back and let me know the boat was still available. My wife really likes this boat!!

LOL...mine is going to make the payment!!

I might have my boat sold, if not I could try to use it as a trade to lower the balance......hmm.

AJ POWERPLAY 11-29-2010 09:54 PM

Last I heard the price was 170,000... wayyy too much for that boat. Powerful Addiction said it runs 83-85 most days and best he's seen was 87. At 120-130k this boat would be attractive, any more and you would be passing up 38-42 foot staggered boats that are much faster and equally impressive in the looks department. 380's are awesome but I can't see passing up an 01 or so Outerlimits 37 or Cig Top Gun (yes Dennis, #1...haha) to own one at that price

verbi69 11-30-2010 06:24 AM

AJ, my thoughts exactly on price. If it were listed in the 120 range I seriously think we would be putting a deal together to take ownership of that boat.
We love the graphics and power package.
I dont think I would be a boat without a windshield as we tend to start boating early and run late into the fall, and we spend weekends at a time aboard so for the camper enclosure and the cold the windshield boats suits our needs better.
I guess a 38 Fountain with big power would be a nice ride as well.

AJ POWERPLAY 11-30-2010 06:49 AM

There is an awesome 38 lightning priced competitively at shogren right now w staggered 525's

verbi69 11-30-2010 08:32 AM

It seems to me that the boats that have the really nice graphics and colour combos are still listed high on price!!

This is a nice 38 footer as well......pricy though at 165k.

PWRQWST 11-30-2010 11:01 AM

There is no comparision between a Fountain and a Powerquest. The Fountain is shorter in length, and side board then the PQ. I personally would not buy a fountain, I am to tall for one at 5'10" :lolhit:

verbi69 11-30-2010 11:53 AM

I am on the midget side at 5'-7", and 5'- 8 1/2 on my tippi toes

What's the details on this boat and where is it located at?
What kind of trailer is it sitting on?

True from the standpoint of ride, handling, and performance. The Fountain smokes the PQ. Freeboard, cockpit space, and cabin room the PQ takes the nod. Depends what you are looking for in a 38' offshore boat. I rode on a '97 38 Fountain with twin HP500's in the Sunsation rally several years ago. Ran low 80's GPS with 5 guys. Rode and handled great.

Hold your horses...lol.

Linda (I thought it was Wanda as I stated earlier) from Quest Watter Sports is looking up the info for me with the owner (price), they are not sure of current pricing. Cant make out the make of trailer and I neglected to ask.
Are you interested in it?

Maybe!
Talking to the wife at lunch today and trying to decide whether to buy new 525's for my 99 or rebuilded my 500 efi's. They are appproaching the rebuild time. The 525's with the close cooling will work great for me in Florida where we live during the winter. I rented (boat) down there now but I want to take my big boy down there to fulfill a dream of running in the Gulf.

I have been talking with the dealer and we started some negotiating, a dollar value hasnt been agreed upon yet, but the process has started. If the deal goes south I can let you know...but I think you have to buy the rest of the boat to get the 525's.....

No I was going to piece it out. LOL!

specialk 11-30-2010 05:37 PM

Has anyone looked at the 38 listed on OSO for 70k? Blue power, low hours. Seems like a decent price unless it is a POS or a salt water boat.

I have talked with the owner of that boat and it is a salt water boat unfortunately.
I dont think it would be a bad buy though.

Lets say 130K was the magic number, I would think the boat would be worth that??
It has 525's with 240 hours, air/ heat, bimini with full camper enclosure, gps speedo, big stereo, and the list goes on....

For 130 what would the list of boats be to look at???
