No, i appreaciate all your knowledge, i wish i new more of what is in the motors. I was afraid to put that up here, because its way faster than i ever thought it would go.
When i bought it i was hoping for 71 - 72
i also run 25 props and turn 5200
You descibed to me exaclty what it's doing...its scary at times.
I just bought a set of 380 k planes, im going to have them put on over the winter. ( Potter Engine)

i mentioned i was chatting with you on line, and he told me to ask you about turning the props out, or in, which is better on that boat?

Cool!!

the 290s like to ride with the nose high kind of a$$ heavy..the 4 blades lift the stern and give it more of a level ride ..better ride, less chine walking,,more boat in the water= 1-2 mph loss at top end....which if you ask me its worth it..

would the 26p give me a little better top end?

I hear you on the Chime walk. Some times it's bad to the point you have to back off of it, yet other times you can ride right through it.

booatnt - thanks for your help, i appreciate it.
i'm going to check which way they are spinning - at top speed, it may be causing it to chime more than normal??

one other question - do you send your props out to improve them?

502's should run mid 70's with Labbed props... I have 7.4's and I can run high 60's with a best of 69.5gps. Kid 288 saw the gps screen himself also

You need to run 3 blade Labbed props to get speed out them though, the speeds boatnt posted are with 4 blades

I never had the props labbed on any of my 290s but last year I had to props labbed on my old 300 and gained 2mph...went from 78 to a little over 80 on gps..I would think the same goes for the 290s...

Bblades seems to be the guy to go to with any merc prop
