I have 2 12" Polks in a sealed box in the engine compartment. It pounds but it viberates the side of the boat so bad it makes the water ripple and sounds kinda bad if ya turn the subs up very far because everything in the boat rattles. But its Crazy loud. ive also got 2 sets of Boston pro componets in the cockpit. And thay SCREAM!

When I purchsed my boat it had two ten inch bass tubes in the side pockets. I could push them up far enough so that you couldn't see them and they sounded great. Thats on a 290 I don't know how big the side pockets are on the 280, Might be worth checking into easy install...

Once again... Free air subs under the seat, no box needed and they give the proper sound needed for an open cockpit application. Anything else and you're just throwing your money away.

The 280 cannot fit free air subs under the seat. It has a fiberglass storage tub with drains that takes up the under seat area. I believe it's the only model like that.

You can put them in the sides up by the driver and passenger... Or anywhere really, without the need for a box the mounting options are limitless... Think outside the box, literally lol
